Pink Lady

I went from never wearing shorts…to wearing leather shorts!  I have come a long way baby…hahaha!

I saw these last week at one of the boutiques I work with and thought they would be adorable with tights and boots for fall nights out with friends.  Since I am one of those people who can’t wait to wear new things, I had to test them out.  This comfortable graphic tee seemed to pair up nicely.  I am not usually one to wear quotes..BUT…this one is just too fitting for me.  I truly do…love what I do…and never feel like I am working…well, maybe when I have to be my own accountant- but in regards to the shopping/styling part…it is my passion:)  Keeping the accessories and everything else very low key as you know my style is uncomplicated and easy.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration, link to purchase this adorable tee from a new online discovery…HERE.  Happy Shopping!!!!

Monday Mingle: Mixing Prints

Monday-MingleNEW

Mixing prints.  I will be honest, I don’t do it often…when I do….I keep things pretty simple.  I mostly pair stripes with camo like here OR leopard as a neutral like here.  I am incredibly inspired when I see bold pairings on other style blogs but when I try to mix it into my personal style…it never ends up “working”.  I prefer to keep it subtle…like below.  The top is solid black but the intricate fabric work gives it a patterned feel….that paired with my favorite (and most comfortable) Ella Moss pants seemed to work well.  What do you think?  Do you mix prints?

Its #MondayMingle time with my favs Kristin of BonBon Rose Girls and Nicole of MomTrends.  Pop by to see what they are up to…the linkup is being hosted by Kristin this week.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great week!

The Weekender

We had a pretty busy weekend.  I had a ton of errands on Saturday preparing for Prestons christening, which is this coming Sunday and met a client later in the afternoon.  Sunday we went to our dear friends christening of their sweet baby girl, Nicolette.  The reception took place at the Brownstone…yes….the Brownstone from Real Housewives of New Jersey….despite the TV drama that takes place there…it is actually a beautiful facility and the food is delicious.  Anyway….What I wore running around Saturday…Hope you find some outfit inspiration…Bringing you a fun collaboration and giveaway this Wednesday so don’t be stranger:)

Your My Obsession

So I have been hitting the gym hard this week to shed these last few lbs and haven’t been in any blogworthy attire (event packed weekend so great outfits to share next week) but for now, I thought I would share my current obsessions. Here goes…..

So I have to give credit where credit is due.  If you don’t follow along on Facebook (you should by clicking here), I recently asked readers about recommendations for scars for my c-section.  I knew I wanted a second child, so I wasn’t that concerned about my scar the first time around…but we have decided our family feels very complete with the birth of Preston 4 months ago, so I am super focused on getting this scar looking as good as it possibly can.  Many of you recommended Bio Oil (which I had never heard of).  It is available at pretty much all local drugstores or online .  I have only been using it for a week and I am beyond obsessed.  I am using it generously for my scar, but also have been using it on dry elbows, knees and feet and even mixed some in with my lotion this morning.  It isn’t as greasy as one would expect from an oil and I love the scent.  Thank you FB friends as I give this product FIVE STARS ladies!!!!

The Dakota Earrings available here are my first purchase from the new Stella and Dot Collection.  I pinned them on my Fashion Wants Board last week and decided to just go for it!  I usually buy a few pieces per season as I find their jewelry to be on trend, well made and affordable.  I adore the mixed metals and bohemian vibe of this particular pair…they are perfect for Spring/Summer.  Of course, I won’t be waiting to wear them, as you will most likely see them in an outfit post (or two or three) very soon.  I told you I was obsessed!!!   *sorry the image is so grainy I pulled them from the Stella and Dot Site

I started using Honest Products when Connor was about 2 1/2.  He only wore them for about 3 months before he was potty trained, but I really liked them and decided to stick with them for Preston as well.  I love them for a few important reasons and one silly reason:)  They are plant based, have no harsh chemicals and are biodegradable, so they are safe for my lil ones bum as well as safe for the environment.  As you can see from the above photo, they are available in a plethora of adorable prints and are so darn cute…(that being the silly reason).  I know some of you reading are thinking, they sound great but they are ridiculously expensive….in all “honesty” …they really aren’t much more.  I was buying a large box of diapers ($34.99) and wipes ($28.99) from Costco each month totaling about $64.00.  With Honest Diapers I am paying $79.00 per month but the items are delivered conveniently to my doorstep.  To me, the $15 difference is worth it for the peace of mind.  The only negative I can think of is that sometimes I run out of wipes and have to buy an extra pack ($5) before the new shipment arrives.  So far I have just used their diapers and wipes, but I am considering trying out there body wash and bathtime products as well….which leads me to my next obsession.

My dear friend Kelley gifted me this Mustela Newborn Set when Preston was born.  At the time I had never heard of the brand but after a little online research apparently it is the leading skincare line for expecting mothers and babies in Europe.  I started using the Foam Shampoo for newborns (specifically cradle cap) and was hooked.  All the items are super gentle, smell awesome and are natural..you can read more here.  Again, a little on the pricier side, but I haven’t gone through any of the bottles and have been using the products since we starting bathing Preston on the regular about 3 months ago…..the product seems to last.  I think I am going to try using the lotions for Connor as well.  Nice to know that skincare/beauty powerhouse Sephora carries the brand so when I finally do need to reorder, it should be pretty easy.

I just purchased these Steve Madden Smoking Slippers from a local boutique here at the shore.  I needed another pair of flats to run around town in and thought these were really fun and comfortable too.  I have already worn them with skinny jeans and felt super chic but I like that I can also wear them with a skirt/dress as they have a dressy feel to them.  I opted for a darker color but they are also available in this color which would be great well into the warmer weather.  Totally obsessed and you will for sure be seeing them on the blog in the coming months.

Hope you enjoyed my roundup of current obsessions and have a great weekend!

Ladylike in Leather

I am always advising clients to invest in a great leather jacket. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive one you can find…..just a nice feel and great fit. You would be surprised (I often am) at how versatile a piece it will become in your wardrobe. In fact, a great way to “toughen” up a ladylike dress is to pair it with your favorite leather. This would be a great look for a low key New Year’s Eve….just a beautiful dress you already own paired with some fabulous leather. Do I have you pining for one? This one available at Nordstroms is awfully pretty.  Email me if you want some additional suggestions- So many great leathers on sale right now. Hope you find some outfit inspiration…and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Britton Collection has arrived!

I have been waiting for this Britton silk maxi dress for months and was so excited it arrived in time for me to wear it this past weekend (I had back to back bridal showers in Philadelphia). For those who are newer to the blog….I posted some shots in the sample a few months back. The finished product is better than I could have hoped for…One hundred percent silk maxi dress perfection. I got so many compliments when I wore it Saturday I was finishing people’s sentences. I would say this dress is a “hit” and can’t wait to see what more Britton has to offer. The line is currently available exclusively at local Jersey Shore boutiques. Please email me if you are interested in previewing more of the collection. For now, hope you find some outfit inspiration!

BB Dakota from Tula in Shrewsbury!

I visited Tula in Shrewsbury New Jersey on Wednesday for a few different reasons.  FIRST, I had been meaning to check out their selection for weeks now. SECOND, one of my fav ladies from Nicole Miller was working a Prom Trunk Show there all day.  THIRD, the weather has finally shifted and I am just shopping til I drop for warmer fashions.
I knew that Tula carried Nicole Miller, so I was certain I would love the selection, but I wasn’t sure if it would be mostly formal dresses and things out of my price range.  I was SO pleasantly surprised!  What an amazing mix of formal, casual, accessories, shoes and more.  With some of my favorite and affordable vendors like Vintage Havana and BB Dakota, I was in heaven. For the events I want to splurge on, I know where to come- with lines like Rebecca Taylor, Nicole Miller, BCBG and Cynthia Steffe there is truly something for every occasion. The warm friendly atmosphere is undeniable and I simply can’t wait to go back. Some pics of the boutique are below……..

Now for the BEST part……What did I buy????  Well kicking it below in my new BB Dakota navy blue and black miniskirt. How sexy is this skirt?  The fabric is super thick and really holds you in- Those who know me well, I have quite the tushy…and this held everything in, in all the right places….Love it!

Tshirt Gap, Leather Jacket Steve Madden, Skirt BB Dakota, Necklaces Sunshine Daydreams Shoes Christian Louboutin

Skirt retails for $71.00 and is available in small through large.  Ran really small in my opinion (I am wearing the large and am typically a 4/6 on the bottom). I wouldn’t have wanted it any tighter or shorter…sort of pushing it as is:)

So for those of you at the Jersey Shore..this is a MUST visit boutique. For those who are not, their online shopping is COMING SOON so stay tuned.
Happy Shopping!

Love my new Leather Jacket!

I recently posted Nicole Richie rocking a white flowy dress with a leather motorcycle jacket. This is my take on that look. Pulled one of my favorite spring/summer dresses and paired it with fall shoes and my fabulous new leather jacket. Hope you enjoy the look as much as I do!
