The Front Tuck

The front tuck.  It is not an official name…but it is the name I have given to my obsession with tucking in just the front part of my shirt.  It shows off your belt, adds some shape and provides a little interest to your outfit, no?  Since I love to tuck, I have decided I need to invest in a fun colorful belt.  Any suggestions?  I am thinking orange….you know I love orange.  You may see some “pinning” and linking to fun belt options in the next few days.

I hope all of you are having a great week.  I am a little frazzled……Preschool ceremonies, teacher gifts, two boxes to get together before the end of the week….and not nearly enough time to do it all!  Ah!!!   Back on Friday with a stylish post to inspire your weekend:)

Sole Society and Sechoir!

A casual post today but probably one of my favorite outfits so far this Spring….simple style lover much?  I just adore easy to wear pieces but also love adding interesting accessories to give the outfit personality.  Sole Society was kind enough to send along these amazing cobalt sandals and they are going to be a favorite of mine this summer.   We all know my affinity for oversized bags…and this printed Joni tote is no exception.  I plan to load it up and go…all summer long!

Do you remember the East West Mamas collaboration with the lovely Tanya?  We said goodbye to the series a few months ago…she was working on a new project and just didn’t think she would have the time to dedicate.  Well, her new project is up, running and if I don’t say so myself pretty damn fabulous!  You simply must go check out her innovative video style series… Sechoir!  I am so proud of all you have accomplished and elated to share your success and fabulousness with my readership.  A few weeks ago, I sent along my absolute favorite necklace from the Stella & Dot line for her to style…and she has knocked it out of the park…obviously!  Check out her latest video and don’t forget to sign up for her newsletter to be entered to win a Lou&Grey tee!  I am styling the SAME fabulous Rebel Pendant in gold…I am sure you recognize it!  Ha!

Wishing all of you a fabulous FUN and fashionable weekend:)

Monday Mingle: Hints of Spring

If  you live in the northeast…you have GOT to be wishing for warm weather…We just got 5 more inches of snow last night!  Ugh.  As much as I love my cozy sweaters, leather and layers…I just want to be in a flowing floral dress and gladiator sandals.  We hit happy hour Friday night and this is what I wore.  A denim shirt, leather leggings and cardi are not all that inventive…but I DID try to channel warmer weather with fun pops of Spring.  My mint clutch, bright colored bracelets and pink lips seemed to help a bit…and maybe the cocktails did too?

It is #MondayMingle time ladies…I hope you will show myself, Kristin of BonBon Rose Girls and Nicole of Momtrends what YOU have been wearing lately.  The link is being hosted by Kristin today here….pop by and join in the fun!  Hope you are fashionably inspired and make it a GREAT WEEK!

East West Mama’s: A Collaboration of Style and GIVEAWAY!

The trendy online store Flat84 so kindly sent Tanya and I the same dress to feature for this months East West Mama’s collaboration.  I was elated when I opened the package to discover the ever so popular black and white trend (which I obviously love from a recent post here).  I was slightly deflated when I realized the size medium was positively innapropriate…my umentionables were completely exposed.  I thought for a bit….maybe I could exchange it for something else….then would be super cute as a tunic. This is a good tip for many of us thirtysomethings and beyond.  If you are loving a particular dress or have something in your closet that feels too short, remember you can always rock it with a great pair of leggings and in this case faux leather ones.  It instantly makes the dress appropriate and super chic.  Being as Tanya is more petite than I, the dress was the perfect length on her…hope you enjoy the way she styled it up on her blog here.  She is looking amazing, right? No fair.

It appears like Flat84 is transitioning from their winter to spring merchandise and spring items are sparse..but  there are some serious deals to be had.  For example, if you love the faux leather legging look…they have a cute pair on sale here.  Or this super cute camo jacket which you can wear well into spring with t-shirts and boyfriend skinnies.

Since we always seem to be in the giving spirit both Tanya and I are gifting the dress to one of YOU!

White Shoes: Not Just For Your Wedding Day

I don’t get a ton of time to sit and read fashion magazines with two little ones ruling my world, but there is one magazine I always grab first when I am getting my monthly pedi….People Style Watch.  As a die hard fashion lover, I know it probably isn’t what I should admit to reading but I honestly love the “real” celebrity photos, the trend forecasts and the bag/shoe round ups.  This March issue was no disappointment and one of the first pages I earmarked was this great shot of Gwyneth Paltrow in a killer black dress with, you guessed it, white pumps.  I immediately knew it was a trend I wanted to try for Spring.  It was slightly challenging finding pairs that didn’t scream wedding day, but I think I found some really beautiful options.  If you want to search on your own, my advice would be keep it clean with either a pump or peep toe, avoid appliques of flowers or bows and stay in the leather family (satin fabric screams wedding).  I haven’t decided which pair will be mine…but you can bet I will be sporting one of these below in the coming months on the blog.  Happy Shopping!

Ain’t No Sunshine

There hasn’t been much sunshine this week at the Jersey Shore so I decided to create my own with this fun yellow blazer.  I know a few of you purchased it from Piperlime per my recommendation, so I hope you are as smitten as I am.  Adoring everything about it..the color…the cut…the overall quality.  A loose fitting T-shirt, blazer and a fabulous scarf is my uniform right now.  My Box Service started up again this week and I needed the combination of comfort and chicness…long days shopping and carrying clothing in and out of stores calls for comfort but I always need to look chic as I could meet my next client at any moment. I am also adoring my new shoes compliments of LillyBee. The shoe line is adorable, on trend and extremely well made. I might need these on super sale and can’t wait to see the new deliveries for Spring. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Shopping!

The "Great White T"

If you are anything like me, your quest for the “Great White T” is ongoing. I wear this wardrobe must have so often that I am constantly tossing them and updating. Right now I am loving the vintage worn in look and looser silhouettes. Below are my favorites available online at every pricepoint. Happy Shopping:)

Old Navy White T: A complete steal at $7.50 and available here. I own this one, and it has a soft worn vintage feel. I wish it were a tad bit looser (probably because I still have a few baby pounds to get rid of) but overall the fit and length is good.

* Pictured in Grey but available in multiple colors including white.
Gap White T: For just under $30 this T has an easy fit and pairs perfectly with your favorite skinnies and a statement necklace. I think I am going to click here to purchase..what about you?

Alternative Apparel White T: I have owned this burnout style from Alternative before and wore it to DEATH. Also has a vintage “burned out” style requiring a tank underneath, but a really great fit and feel. Available here for $40.

LA Made White T: La Made takes comfort to a different level. One of my favorite “basics” brands….the pricetag is a little high for a white t….but I promise it will fast become one of your favorite items in your closet. Available for $70 here.

Dust the Shoulders Off!

Last time I wore THIS Old Navy dress it was Christmas time…safe to say it’s been a while. Decided to dust the shoulders off and wear it out yesterday. The only great thing about Hurricane Irene is that she literally took all of the humidity with her when she left…leaving us almost a little “chill” in the air. Felt fantastic! I quickly jumped at the opportunity to wear a longer sleeved dress, a scarf and this new fall inspired statement necklace. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Shopping!

This Tano Bag has really been my “go to” all summer long. Love the over the shoulder option…kind of wish ALL my bags had it:)  Bracelet is fast becoming a favorite too…by Lia Sophia.

Have a great week!

Spring has Sprung

Okay so I know it is a little early to talk spring, but here in jersey we had our first warm (49 degree) day in I don’t know how long. It has been snowing here like crazy, so to me, 49 degrees is spring.
As soon as the weather starts to turn, we all want to ditch our dark black and grey attire for the lighter brighter versions for spring. My absolute FAVORITE thing to wear in these transitional months (March, April, May) are western styled boots. It is not warm enough for sandals, but all of our dark leather, suede and patent boots are too heavy looking for spring. Grab yourself a pair of western styled boots, pair them with a fun dress and a cardigan and you are good to go!

The first boot I posted is from a western website called Sheplers. They have been selling western styled shoes, clothing and accessories since 1899. That boot is called the Old Western Distressed Leather Cowgirl-Snip Toe and runs at about $99.00 I am really digging the lighter color of the shepler boot for spring- and may have to add to my collection of boots! The second boots I posted are by Frye. I actually have this exact pair in two colors….I have had them for three years, they look good as new, since they are supposed to be distressed anyway. I can’t kill these shoes and they are so comfortable. They are a little pricey but in my opinion worth every penny. It is called the Billy Pull On, comes in a variety of colors and sells for $268.00 on the Frye website. Those are two great boot options.

Part of the reason I love this look (dress with boots) for my life RIGHT NOW is that it is easy and comfortable. I will look pulled together but can also run around in this style of boot as opposed to a boot with a high heel. I think this look is youthful but not juvenile and since thirty is my new number, I am becoming more aware of what trends can come with me, and those I have to leave in my twenties.
The cowboy boots are coming with me!
