Ahoy: How to Style Graphic Sweaters

The temperature dropped something fierce here in New Jersey and I, for one, couldn’t be happier.  Booties, skinnies, scarves…yes yes yes!!!  Putting together the last “The Box Service” of the week this morning and then I can relax…and by relax, I mean get Connor geared for his first soccer practice and plan something simple yet fabulous for my husbands birthday on Saturday.  Lets just say, the rest of the week, I will be focused on my men:)

Make it a great week…Back on Friday with The. Most. Amazing. Shoes. To. Ever. Exist.

Unlikely Pairing: Grey and Brown

This outfit may have been inspired by my new obsession, the Sam Edelman booties featured below.  I mean GAH!  I actually was shopping for a client when I stumbled upon them….weakness struck and I had to have them for myself!  They are just perfection in every way.  The heel is mommy friendly, the zippers are on trend and modern, and the color was lacking in my shoe wardrobe.

Lightweight layers are key for me right now.  It is still hot as h*ll outside, but my mind is on fall fashion.  Layers allow it to feel like fall, peeling away when its hot and adding on when you step into the air conditioning.  There was a time, I would have NEVER paired grey with chocolate brown.  Grey always went with black accents, not brown.  I am so glad to have left that notion behind.  I love this grey/brown color combo…..simple, casual, chic….the name of my game.

* I am wearing a new wash c/o Level 99.  Its the Liza Skinny.  Looks awesome cuffed, but also left long.  This will be my staple fall dark jean. If you are interested in purchasing or want to request a pair for your The Box Service, let me know.  $149

Happy WEEKEND!

New Years Eve Style: Repeat Offender

Years ago….before Facebook, Instagram and this blog I would have never thought twice about re-wearing something I loved two weeks later…especially since it was a totally different crowd. I hemmed and hawed for days over what to wear for New Years Eve….

We had relatively low key plans…my parents took the kiddies for the night…so we knew we wanted to do something, but we didn’t want to travel or spend a fortune.  We stuck close to home and had a beautiful dinner (just the two of us) at Prime 13 and then met my sisters and friends at 709 for cocktails…cocktails…and a few more cocktails.  I knew the pantsuit would be the perfect mix of cool, comfortable and chic but I was fresh off wearing it in NYC.  I tortured myself for a few days and then decided, who cares, and focused on styling it differently with some fun black and gold accessories.

I have been DYING to try the bohemian headband look for some time now…but it never happened…so when I stumbled across this black and gold floral one I decided to give it a try.  I received countless compliments and felt like it really went with the vibe of the pantsuit…Studio 54 anyone?  Hopefully this post inspires you to re-wear a few of your favorite pieces this month!  Just focus on different shoes, bag and accessories and no one will know:)

I truly hope each and every one of you had a beautiful New Year spent with loved ones…I, for one, am beyond excited to see what 2014 has in store!  Watching my babies continue to grow into little men…continuing to better our eating habits and food choices..super focused on growing my business…and doing it all IN STYLE!  2014 is going to be an AMAZING year:)

LOVE and a Maxi

To say it has been hot as h*ll lately would be the understatement of the century.  With an average of 100 degrees and soupy humidity in the air…it was unpleasant last week to say the least.  It kind of worked out for us….both boys had the croup, so I didn’t even need to figure out a way to brave the heat…we simply stayed inside and watched movies, colored and relaxed.  On Sunday, a thunderstorm accompanied by some rain cooled the temperatures down to the 80’s.  Normally not sweater weather, but I think in comparison to what it had been, I was actually a little chilly that evening heading to a casual dinner with the family.  I recently purchased this love sweater on super sale at Old Navy.  I thought it would be adorable for running around with the kids paired with skinny jeans or boyfriends.  I haven’t given this maxi much love lately and since I am trying to (with a few slip ups)  “work what I got” I thought it might be fun to pair these two up!  What do you all think?  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Shopping:)

LBD is always a great choice!

Nothing beats a little black dress my friends and fellow fashionistas. Felt great in this Rachel Roy for Macy’s black dress and thought I would share. Was heading out for a nice dinner with the hubby for some one on one time…lil man was with my parents. Such a nice evening 🙂

Love the unexpected back on this dress….who doesn’t love a racerback…definitely makes the bra situation more challenging…I didn’t wear one- but you could have done a strapless.

My absolute favorite detail of this dress is the ruffle front…for those of us a little less blessed in the chest area…it makes for a beautiful enhanced look!

Been really into “nude” or skin toned shoes lately…especially with an all black look. It is a bit unexpected and really extends the length of your leg…making your legs look like they go on for miles. I am ALL torso, so I can use help in that area.

The nights at the shore are getting chilly so I threw on this jean jacket just in case.

I find too many accessories overwhelming and they often take away from the look- But since this was such a simple outfit, I thought it called for some fun bangles and bracelets to add a little interest.
