#MondayMingle time again. Happy to be hosting this week and showing off my favorite skirt from PiperStreet. I wore the skirt like this for my styling session with Grace Initiatives and then again the next day as shown below. I rarely wear the same thing the very next day…but something about the easy fit, stripes and comfort had me reaching for it again.
#MondayMingle is the style collaboration of Kristen from BonBon Rose Girls, Nicole from Momtrends and little old me:) Pop by their blogs to see their stylish posts and don’t forget to enter to win the giveaway below…some amazing S&D and a very cool pair of sunnies. Thanks for linking up and don’t forget to BE SOCIAL! Make it a great week.
The sun was shining, the weather was incredible and my family and friends gathered at St Peters Church in Point Pleasant to celebrate my nieces christening day. My husband and I are both lucky and honored to have been chosen as the godparents to sweet baby Skylar. It was a beautiful afternoon….as we celebrated back at my sisters home…I excused myself from the festivities for a few quick moments and took some photos of the beautiful London Times dress I was gifted a few weeks ago. I have reviewed the dresses before and will say it again…the fit and comfort is just SO perfect for me. I also love that most styles work for day and evening and the length is just a smidge longer…which is so appropriate for this thirty-something chasing after the kiddies. Layered with my favorite Rachel Zoe leather vest…because this fall it is ALL about the layers, no? Hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great week:)

Firstly, completely unrelated to all things fashion or the outfit post below…but it wouldn’t be right to share all about this glorious dress and not make mention of the complete devastation that has hit the Jersey Shore yet AGAIN. A few towns over,in Seaside, a huge fire has destroyed half of the boardwalk…buildings and businesses that have been there for decades…just gone. I am not sure how much more the towns here can bear but please say a little prayer for the families, businesses, firefighters and first responders. My heart breaks as people rally to rebuild…again.
Today is my husbands 35th birthday…Happy Bday babe! He is off to golf and we are planning a big family dinner…cake and all…for tonight. Last night, we decided to go to dinner, just the two of us. I have been itching to wear this Von Vonni dress again…it is probably my most favorite dress…EVER! I needed a way to bring a more casual vibe to it…and my trusted Rachel Zoe leather vest did the trick. I kept the rest of the look really really simple…minimal makeup and hair in a ponytail. My favorite mixture of sweet and edgy, this outfit will go down as a favorite of mine. Style tip here is to consider layering you favorite summer dresses with vests and outerwear for a more fall inspired look….perfect way to get more wear out of your more formal items. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and check out my tips for layering necklaces below! Happy weekend to ALL!!!
Dress Von Vonni (older style), Rachel Zoe Vest (older style), Shoes Calvin Klein (old), Clutch Louis Vuitton (old), Necklaces c/o SilverSpeck and Lola’s Boutique
I love this trend and am glad to see it making a comeback. I have been rocking it for quite some time!
I might be in the minority, but I don’t think there are a ton of rules to layering. My advice…
1. The most important thing to remember is all of the necklaces you choose to wear must be different lengths. I would say make sure there is at least an inch between where they hit on your neckline.
2. I love the mixture of metals like you see above. It is a modern take and shows you aren’t afraid to have a little fun! Of course, all gold or all silver look great too!
3. Really it is about letting your personality shine through. Much like any accessory it is an expression of who YOU are. Do what feels right for you.
The lovely peeps at Flat84 sent me these adorable floral leggings by See You Monday…and guess what? I am super cool and requested an extra pair for one of you:) Giveaway is below the last photo….
While I was getting dressed this morning….the leggings seemed to scream “pair me with leather” so I threw them on with my favorite vest….comfortable and chic running around for two box clients today. Post maternity or not, I really do love the leggings trend and hope that it continues. I wear them both casually and out on the town. My leggings style tip…Unless you are Kate Moss, you simply must pair them with a longer/tunic length shirt. I know some will disagree, but this is a hard limit for me…and you will NEVER see me rock leggings without a tunic. Planning to wear these with an oversized denim shirt next! Hope you find some outfit inspiration and don’t forget to enter the giveaway below:)

Posting consistently for almost three years definitely requires commitment and dedication, but beyond that sometimes it requires a little recharge. So I thought long and hard about what might inspire me in 2013…….collaborating with one of my favorite bloggers just might do the trick!
It is with much pleasure that I introduce the beautiful and talented Tanya of November Grey. I was drawn to her blog (3 years ago) because she is everything I am not….an artsy super thrifter living in California. I am inspired by people who are different than me….but we are both personal stylists and retail junkies…so there was kismet. A little secret that she doesn’t even know… I wear red lipstick because of her blog….She wears it so beautifully, I decided to try it about two years ago…I wear it all the time now. So thank you Ms. Tanya for giving my lips a much needed makeover:) A little over a year ago, we discovered that we were both pregnant (with boys) due within days of each other. We most definitely connected and have sent countless emails of encouragement and friendship. OK, enough of my lady crush….now to the FASHION!
Each month, Tanya and I are going to bring you a fun collaboration…sometimes a brand/sponsor highlight and other times we might shop our closets together….More fun ideas to come….This month we were both gifted the most fabulous shift dress from London Times to style each our own way. I love that we both piled on outerwear, but in a totally different way…Hop over to Tanya’s Blog to see her additional shots of the dress and style details. I hope you enjoy and enter the GIVEAWAY…details on how to enter below!

I have been embracing lots of fun colors lately…purple, red, mint. I have been loving the burst of color, but sometimes you want to turn to old faithful…all black. My tip for a rich all black look is layering with different fabrications and textures. Below I started with a silk jersey, layered with leather and added a black suede shoe to polish it off. I felt super chic, hope you agree and find some outfit inspiration:)

Yesterday I visited my 48 degree house (still no power) and grabbed some clothing for the next few days. It seemed strange to be poking around in my dark closet for a fashionable blogworthy outfit….but I also admit that I just simply needed something to return to normal…and since we can’t go home yet…my wardrobe is about the ONLY thing I can control. I decided to do a little work and processed some box service clients and visited one of the boutiques I work with that has their power back. In the late afternoon, I took the boys over to my sister’s to visit…they JUST got their power back and it was a nice change of scenery from my parents house. This is what I wore…I told you, you will be seeing ALOT of this Rachel Zoe leather vest. It was a total season splurge and I knew it would look great with pretty much everything in my closet. Hope you find some outfit inspiration:)
