Simple Style: Boyfriend Shorts

I recently dedicated an entire post to “the boyfriend short”, because, much like the boyfriend jean, I know they will be a staple in my wardrobe.  You can dress them up or down….super casual with sneakers but equally as great with funky high heeled sandals.  Versatility is key in my wardrobe.

I originally thought I would go pricey, but when I saw these were 29 dollars on sale, I snatched them up with zero hesitation.  I love the whitewashed look…sort of 90s vibe.  Its true what they say..what goes around, comes around…..especially in fashion.  Hope I have convinced you to add a pair of boyfriends to your summer wardrobe…and if you already have a pair…hoping I have inspired you to try them with your favorite heels!  It is such a fun combination:)  Make it a great week!

Unstructured Clothing

I had a private hospital tour yesterday of the 82 million dollar emergency department added to Ocean Medical Center.  It was unbelievable…looked more like a five star hotel than a hospital…I shared the waiting room area here on Instagram. I had the tour, clients to shop for and then an informal meeting at the end of the day, so I opted for cool comfort. Of course, that included my camo skinnies which haven’t had as much love lately.  I picked up this navy jacket by the brand Miss Me a few days back…I love the soft luxurious feel and the unstructured design.  No one…I repeat NO ONE loves unstructured clothing more than I.  It just reads so chic and cool to me.  I realize it isn’t for everyone…what are your thoughts?  Do you prefer structure or a looser fit?  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great Wednesday:)

Striped on Piper Street

A while back, a blog I frequent announced they were opening up an online shop….I had honestly forgotten to check back once it launched…life has just been THAT busy.  Fortunately for me (and you) I popped by a few weeks ago to discover this adorable e-boutique Piper Street.  The clothing is fun, affordable and has a little bohemian vibe (love that).  I knew I would pick something up and wanted it to be a piece I could wear now and later into Spring/Summer…..I landed on this Phoebe Skirt, now with layers and boots…later with sandals and a tank:)  Black and white is just so universal, seasonless and easy to style, no?  I also love the fit, no tight elastic waistband…just sits nice and easy on the tummy.  There are a few other favs from the site here, here and here.  Hope you are fashionably inspired:)

Piper Street was so kind to gift a $25 giftcard to one lucky reader.  You could snatch up my $22 skirt or find something you love! Happy Shopping and don’t forget to ENTER THE GIVEAWAY BELOWGOOD LUCK!

New Years Eve Style: Repeat Offender

Years ago….before Facebook, Instagram and this blog I would have never thought twice about re-wearing something I loved two weeks later…especially since it was a totally different crowd. I hemmed and hawed for days over what to wear for New Years Eve….

We had relatively low key plans…my parents took the kiddies for the night…so we knew we wanted to do something, but we didn’t want to travel or spend a fortune.  We stuck close to home and had a beautiful dinner (just the two of us) at Prime 13 and then met my sisters and friends at 709 for cocktails…cocktails…and a few more cocktails.  I knew the pantsuit would be the perfect mix of cool, comfortable and chic but I was fresh off wearing it in NYC.  I tortured myself for a few days and then decided, who cares, and focused on styling it differently with some fun black and gold accessories.

I have been DYING to try the bohemian headband look for some time now…but it never happened…so when I stumbled across this black and gold floral one I decided to give it a try.  I received countless compliments and felt like it really went with the vibe of the pantsuit…Studio 54 anyone?  Hopefully this post inspires you to re-wear a few of your favorite pieces this month!  Just focus on different shoes, bag and accessories and no one will know:)

I truly hope each and every one of you had a beautiful New Year spent with loved ones…I, for one, am beyond excited to see what 2014 has in store!  Watching my babies continue to grow into little men…continuing to better our eating habits and food choices..super focused on growing my business…and doing it all IN STYLE!  2014 is going to be an AMAZING year:)

Linking up with two pretty mommies, Mama Fashion Files and Baby Shopaholic!

Neiman Marcus Last Call Event

As many of you know, I hosted an intimate shopping event last week in partnership with Neiman Marcus Last Call at Bergen Town Center.  I was so appreciative of the opportunity and to spend some one on one time with my favorite Northern New Jersey clientele.  Many of them are The Box Service clients…so shopping together was a hoot! Clothing was bouncing from room to room…person to person….fashionable chaos…and I LOVE IT!  There was zero lack of fabulous things…and I picked up a few items for myself…like those killer Ash Moto Boots you keep seeing on Instagram.  Hope you enjoy a sneak peak from the event and hopefully you can join me at the next gig!  Have an awesome weekend….barring snow, we have a fun night out in NYC ahead…debuting my black pantsuit!!!  Can’t wait:)

THE REAL Jersey Shore Style

A few years ago, when I was brand new to the blogging gig, I stumbled across Fashion-isha!  I remember thinking Sharon had the most contagious smile.  When I read on and realized she lived at the Jersey Shore, not ten miles from me, I was elated.  I adore networking online….but in person?  Well, that is my jam:)

We have met a few times and shared our stories, blogging journeys, desires in the fashion industry.  At our most recent meetup we were trying to come up with a way to collaborate and potentially involve other New Jersey fashion and lifestyle bloggers.  With shows like Jersey Shore and Jerseylicious there is a negative image about fashion in this great state.  Sharon and I come from very different backgrounds and cultures…but we both agree on tasteful fashion…I wouldn’t quite say I am modest…I take risks…but I also know the difference between classy and trashy…and what works for my age and body type.  Our collaboration was born….showcasing THE REAL JERSEY SHORE style and inviting others to join in the fun. Please leave a comment or shoot one of us an email if you are a fellow Jersey blogger and are interested in getting in on the FUN…we don’t have a specific plan…but would love to connect with like-minded women who live in this beautiful state!

Sharon and I have both styled up our takes on the classic combination of ivory and black.  You simply can’t go wrong with this color combo.  Don’t forget to pop by Fashion-isha to check out how Sharon has styled her look.  I know you will love her blog…her energy and zest for life are very much alive on her blog and she finds the most beautiful inspirational photos for fashion and home decor!  Happy Wednesday:)

Neiman Marcus Event: Last Call Studio

Some of you may have seen the invitation on my Facebook Page.…but I wanted to dedicate an entire post to the event.  I just had a meeting the beautiful Iwona, the manager of the Bergen Last Call Studio and couldn’t be more excited about this event.  Chatting away about all the plans we realized we knew a few mutual people and BOTH worked at Neiman Marcus Short Hills!  Small world, no?

As an avid shopper of Neimans and Neimans Last Call this partnership is so natural and I felt right at home shopping the discounted designer goodies.  I am making it a family affair and my lovely sisters are going to be informally modeling styled looks put together by moi, there will be delicious bites, wine for tasting, mini makeovers, great people, great energy and most importantly great FASHIONS!  The personal shopper in me can’t resist…so there will be an entire section of the store dedicated specifically to what I think you might need in your life-if you have RSVP’d there will be something chosen for you, by me!  I also plan to highlight some great giftgiving options for the upcoming holiday season!

I have been on the prowl for an amazing shoe (as if I don’t have any) for a few events I have coming up….fur open toed booties by Charles Jourdan? Originally 389 down to 219 and then an additional 30 percent off?  Yes, yes yes!  You shall see those soon enough…for now…the details of the event and some eye candy including my favorite steals are below!  Truly hope to see you there…..

* PLEASE RSVP to my email if I don’t already know that you are coming!

Golden Tote Review

I originally reviewed this online shop here but wanted to be sure to follow up showing off my new goodies from The Golden Tote.  If you follow instagram you saw the camo skinnies with the crochet top as my outfit of the day yesterday. I also slid on the dress for purposes of this review and cannot wait to wear it in real life….it is the perfect summer dress and has POCKETS!!!

For those of you who missed the original post, The Golden Tote is an online shop of trendy items but what makes them really unique is the “Golden Tote Sale” where you choose one item on your own and then the others are a “jackpot” chosen by the Golden Tote team:)  There are two “totes” you can buy…one for $49 and one for $149.  I opted for the less expensive $49 tote and got the beautiful blouse and the dress featured below.  I chose the shirt and the dress was my jackpot!  They couldn’t have been more “on” as the dress is perfection for easy summer days but can also be dressed up with heels and more glam glam accessories.  I am totally pleased and definitely recommend the site.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a great weekend!  I am back on Monday with my boys as the models and giving away a 50 dollar e-gift card to The Children’s Place to one lucky reader.  Stay tuned!!!

Black and White Bags to Covet

If you follow the blog you know that my husband splurged a while back and got me the most amazing bright orange Marc Jacobs handbag last year…I wear it constantly and LOVE that it adds an instant pop of color to any outfit I throw on.  That said, I am craving something more muted for this Spring/Summer.  I have done some alot of online browsing and have decided that a black and white bag would be the perfect addition to my handbag collection.  Not only is it so “on trend” for 2013, it is classic enough to stick around for at least a few seasons. Of course, my favorites are anything but “typical”….Round up for all budgets is below….Enjoy and Happy Shopping:)

Shop Small: Holiday Gift Guide 2012

If you read along you know that I am a huge fan and supporter of small businesses. Infact, my entire “Box Service” is based around shopping small privately owned boutiques. Aside from loving the service and experience, I also love knowing that the merchandise is an extension of the owners passion and commitment to fashion and their clientele. Below are a few of my favorite online small businesses that I frequent as well as a few new discoveries. I plan to support them and local boutiques in my community as well. If you can, think about shopping small this weekend (small business Saturday) or anytime this holiday season:) Happy Shopping!

Sparkle Clover Necklace by Zolie Designs available for purchase here. I have a beautiful orange stone necklace that I wore to death over the Spring/Summer months. I can’t wait to scoop up one of her beautiful designs for the winter months.

Aziza Blouse by SAVA available for purchase here. This brand has been highlighted numerous times on the blog. All the items are made in the USA, specifically Philadelphia and I have yet to be disappointed by a single item. This blouse is to DIE for and can be worn more conservatively with a tank/shell underneath.  Perfect for the holiday season ahead.

Kitten Heels by Bettye Muller available at by clicking here. I discovered this online shop recently….as the owner is a reader of the blog and we connected over the love of a blouse:) Her online curation of premiere designer shoes is not to be missed. I have a few pairs on my wishlist for sure. These leopard print kitten heels are amazing! Hubby are you reading?

Baseball Knit Shirt via Shop Frankie’s and available here. A fellow blogging buddy, I adore Nicole’s personal style…so of course I love her online boutique for affordable, trendy and of the moment pieces.  I would wear this around town possibly paired with my faux leather leggings.  How would you wear it?

The Stiletto in Grey Arrow available at Third Street Habit here.  I popped in this boutique (my favorite in Philadelphia) last weekend and purchased a pair of grey skinnies which I am sure you will see on the blog very soon.  I was lusting after these as well- Printed jeans are all the rage and this soft grey arrow print can be worn now but easily take you into Spring with a classic white tee…AND they are on sale. What are you waiting for?

Chevron Dangle Earrings by Noonday Collection available here.   A friend from college reached out and introduced me to this brand.  We are planning a collaboration (she just started w the company) so stay tuned.  I was looking through the site and am not sure if I am more inspired by the jewelry or theowners story…but both are pretty damn inspirational.  These earrings are a MUST have for me.

Big Black Boots!

I have had a few reader/client requests for my top fall (black) boot picks. Whatever strikes your fancy….whether tall, short, flat or heeled….there should be something for everyone here!  Happy Shopping!

A little bit country and a little bit rock and roll…these Dolce Vita boots are perfection. Available here.  Out of your budget?  Try these for a similar vibe.

This pair of Stuart Weitzman’s is SO classic, it warrants the splurge.  Available here.  Splurge not in the cards?  Try this pair on for size.

Typically not a “bow” kind of gal…but something about these has me swooning!  Great stacked heel too for those that aren’t into flats.  Available here.  Cute little bow boot on sale here too!

Digging the mix of leather and suede- I had a pair of Calvin Klein booties years ago…and they lasted forever.  Available here.  If you like the “bootie” look….these are pretty fabulous too! Oh, and one more really cute boot in suede available here.

More on the casual side of things, these DV’s are perfect for the park or the daytime activities of a mama on the go:)  Available here.  Same idea and super cute for a TOTAL steal here.  Also digging these.

These are so flawless, I think I would have a hard time wearing them out and about!  Love the wedge and pointier toe.  Available here.

Fantasy Faux Fur

On Monday, I had the unique opportunity to preview a collection of faux fur designed by none other than the incredibly talented designer to the stars, Naeem Khan. If you aren’t familiar- I am not sure the rock under which you reside, but check out his site to learn more about his unbelievable design creations. Unattainable by most,  his price points are in the thousands of dollars per dress……the very reason he launched TIMELESS available at HSN.  With price points all under 500 dollars, the modern chic woman can get a bit of his luxurious design aesthetic at a fraction of the price!  The faux’s I am about to show you are INCREDIBLE.  They are available come November on HSN and range in price from $399 for vests to $999 for full length coats.  The hand was so soft, obviously of superb quality…. I think I overheard that it is woven instead of the typical knit.  Hope you enjoy my sneak peak and I will be SURE to let you know when the items are available online.  Happy Shopping!

Beautiful coats, Beautiful gowns, glass of bubbly…..does a night get any better than that? Apparently it does…. there were miniature cheeseburgers too!

I become very serious when it comes to fashion….checking out all the coats, deciding which should be mine?

How amazing is this full length multicolored coat? It came short also….I am torturing myself. What are your thoughts? Shall I go full length or short?

My dear friend Jenny and I- She put this amazing preview together- Isn’t she lovely?

Totally random- Had to share….this is the chandelier from the bathroom! Yes folks, the bathroom. It was more luxurious than one could even capture in a photo….and the tile….absolutely unbelievable!

Finally my dear blog buddy Sara from Style on the Couch and I were able to meet in person:) We have been following eachother’s blogs for well over a year….She is more lovely than I imagined and it was so fun catching up with her. Thanks for a wonderful time Sara……

Have a great week!
