NYC: Black, Yellow and a little Sparkle

On Monday, I put my big girl pants (fair enough, tights) on and braved the cold into the great city of New York.  I had a few blogging friends I was dying to see…..Glamamom, BonBon Rose Girls and Momtrends.  We met at the delicious Rosa Mexicano across from the Lincoln Center…shared fabulous conversation and unbelievable guacamole….then head over to take a few outfit shots, of course!  I was supposed to head to the Alice and Olivia presentation…but a few too many margaritas had me ditch it and just take the train home.  If you break it down, my fashion week experience involved very little fashion at all…and as Andy Grammer would say…”that’s Fine by Me”!

I first wore yellow and black together here and then here and have been smitten ever since.  I really adore ANY bright colored blazer and would completely recommend one for Spring.  It can completely transform your basic black clothing for transitional weather (like now) and be styled well into the spring and summer months.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have an awesome weekend!!

Can’t get Enough of My….Yellow Blazer

To be honest, it is probably more than a repeat offender…I wear this yellow blazer a ton.  It instantly adds a punch of color to all of the black and white I seem to be wearing lately…how about here, here and here. Don’t you just love when something gets that much wear?  I really adored it over this denim on denim look from Monday.  I had a new client for a Closet Overhaul and wanted to look chic and put together but comfortable to dig knee deep in her closet. I am going to compile a “must haves” list in the coming week or so…all my closet overhauls are asking for it (what they are missing) and I think its time to share what I think is essential for Spring…it will definitely include what you see below…blazer, scarf, ballet flats…and more.  For now, hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great week:)

It is rare for me to skip wearing my Rolex.  It was such a splurge and meaningful gift from my husband, I like to wear it daily.  That said, this fun oversized Invicta watch is perfect for my more casual outfits and I love injecting that rich brown into my look. It was so reasonably priced, I don’t feel guilty only sporting it once in a while and think it looks way more expensive than its pricetag.

Sunny and Warm

This look felt comfortable and classic while the studded boots and faux leather leggings kept it young and fresh.  The combination of yellow and black can be reminiscent of a bumble bee, so the trick for me was layering and adding dimension with accent colors and accessories.  I think this is my favorite casual outfit to date….I am not sure why….maybe the yellow blazer has me dreaming of sunny warm weather….I hope you like it as much as I do and find some outfit inspiration:)
