Shorts for ThirtySomethings

Shorts.  I will be honest.   We have a love/hate relationship.  I am not confident in shorts.  I have thicker thighs and feel like they aren’t super flattering on me and highlight the heaviest part of my legs.  So, when I find a pair that I feel are flattering AND comfortable, I am sure to dedicate a blogpost to it. Usually a fan of bermudas, these are shorter, but the fit is really easy.  I can teeter between a 4/6 at Old Navy…and these are a 6.  I like that I can wear them a little lower on the hip.  Loving the simple, easy style of this particular outfit.  White tank, white button down, great accessories adding in a POP of color….kind of my uniform lately.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration:)  Happy Shopping!

Casual Mommy Style

I have a crazy week ahead….two box clients to pull for this afternoon…NYC for a showroom appointment and accessories buy on Tuesday….and NYC again on Wednesday for the Kids Rock fashion show.  Oh, and my little Connor man starts pre-school this week….I am tired just typing it.  Since we will be go-go-going all week I thought it was important to disconnect and focus on family time over the weekend.  I rarely posted on Instagram and didn’t check Facebook much….hope you understand:)  I also didn’t get out of my mommy uniform Saturday or Sunday….so although it is not the most creative styling you have ever seen here on the is what I was wearing.  Hope you find some casual girl on the go outfit inspiration.  Make it a great week:)

I have a fashion filled week ahead so definitely follow along on Instagram!!! Oh and my little model Connor is back on the scene sporting some adorable toddler style too!

Friday Night: How to Style a Leather Mini

I am elated that the weather has shifted a little earlier than expected and smiled when the temperature called for a lightweight sweater last night.  I. LIVE. FOR. FALL.  Seriously, it is my favorite time of year.  I have had this faux leather mini for a while now and every time I go to wear it…it just doesn’t make the cut….only once this summer here.  I love it in theory…but just never felt completely comfortable in it.  This love sweater that I scored on super sale from Old Navy a few weeks back was the perfect match and finally made this skirt feel fun, modern and maybe even whimsical? (you might be thinking young, haha) Hey, you only live once…I decided to rock the leggy look with a whole bunch of confidence! I hope I am inspiring you to grab that item in your closet that has been passed over time and time again…and find a way to WEAR IT!  Have some fun, think outside the box…I have a feeling you will be quite smitten with the result.  Happy weekend to all!!!

Enjoying these last few weeks of very minimal makeup while I am still slightly tan!  It fades SO quickly…..

Mind the Gap

So if you haven’t looked online at the “Gap” in a while, you should take a look. Loving their fall lookbook- Very preppy chic with a little bit of bohemian inspiration. I am looking forward to recreating some of these looks- mostly by closet diving, but maybe a new piece here or there 🙂
A few of my favorite pieces are highlighted above:
First the Cascade Ruffle Blouse for 59.50. Perfect for summer nights now with shorts or a skirt and will take you through the fall with a black turtleneck underneath OR a great jeanjacket or cozy sweater overtop.
Second the Boyfriend Blouse on sale for 45.oo dollars this top needs no explanations-it can go anywhere and is SO comfortable.
Third the Chambray Demin Tunic- Much to my pleasure (considering the dozens of leggings I bought last season) the tunic is back and better then ever. Great price at 59.50- Will look amazing with ANY color legging and with layering peices.
Last but not least I am digging the Corduroy Trimmed Utility Jacket for 89.50- Loving the army green color to break up all the black, grey and tan I have for fall.
Happy Shopping!
