The Front Tuck

The front tuck.  It is not an official name…but it is the name I have given to my obsession with tucking in just the front part of my shirt.  It shows off your belt, adds some shape and provides a little interest to your outfit, no?  Since I love to tuck, I have decided I need to invest in a fun colorful belt.  Any suggestions?  I am thinking orange….you know I love orange.  You may see some “pinning” and linking to fun belt options in the next few days.

I hope all of you are having a great week.  I am a little frazzled……Preschool ceremonies, teacher gifts, two boxes to get together before the end of the week….and not nearly enough time to do it all!  Ah!!!   Back on Friday with a stylish post to inspire your weekend:)

Counting Down in Red Heels

Is it possible to be extremely grateful and extremely overwhelmed at the same time?  Well, yes it is….I am so thankful for all these amazing opportunity to be shopping for clients with less than FIVE days until Xmas…but I am so freaking overwhelmed to get it all done and still have everything wrapped and ready to go for my OWN loved ones.  My rational self knows I will get it all done….but my emotional self is all over the damn place.

I shot these down by the train tracks again with the lovely Amy of Adalie Scott Photography….these might be some of my favorite shots EVER on the blog!  I have been sporting these red heels like no other lately..don’t pretend like you didn’t notice.  I am not ashamed.  They are just the perfect compliment to all the classic black and white I wear.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Wednesday:)

Mixologist: Fall Style

A baseball cap made of (faux) leather is a complete oxymoron…maybe that is why I adore it so much? Honestly, I can’t think of a time I have ever worn a true baseball cap- just not part of my personal style…but throw in some leather and I am apparently all over it. I saw the cap below and simply had to have it. I thought I would wear it exclusively casual, but enter some oily roots and dinner plans and it dressed right up! I loved the mixture of casual and dressier elements in this look…cap and pajama pants definitely scream comfort while the leather top, fur cardigan and red pumps ooze luxury – kind of unexpected, no? I hope I am inspiring you to mix it up this week and play around with your existing wardrobe….you just might fall in love with the result! Happy Monday!

Third Times A Charm

The first time I wore this dress in April, I paired it with a leather jacket and Jeffrey Campbell booties.  The second time, I matched it up with my Nicole Miller fur trimmed sweater and my favorite leopard pumps below.

Since I have moved onto fall shopping and am trying to “work what I have” I decided I could definitely wear this dress a third time:)  The trick in keeping it feeling new and fresh for me, was introducing totally different accessories and shoes.  This time around I threw on a mess of gold necklaces, a cool studded belt and my coral sandals.  What do you all think?  How do you reinvent pieces in your wardrobe?  Hope you are inspired to “work” your summer wardrobe and make it a great week!

Instagrammed: The Best Dress I Have Ever Worn!

I have never loved a dress more than the one featured below (excluding my bridal gown).  I originally saw it on the Von Vonni site for $550 and although I was obsessed, I just couldn’t stomach that price for a dress.  I watched and I waited and low and behold one fine day it went on sale!  Half off!!  I didn’t even blink an eye, I just added to cart and paid:)  The dramatic peekaboo lace paired with the silk flowing florals is seriously the most beautiful combination I have ever seen.  I attended a wedding this past weekend with all of my best friends from college….we left the husbands at home and all flied solo…Girls Night…and it was SO fun!

If you follow on Instagram  you saw this dress over the weekend….never had this kind of response to a dress.  Since so many were desiring the look and unfortunately the dress is sold out, I decided to create a set featuring dresses that evoke the same vibe.  Happy Shopping and make it a great week:)

Easy, Distressed and a Giveaway!

This awesome camo jacket (which I have been sporting over on Instagram) was yearning to be paired with my distressed skinnies.  I have been scared to try them because they are most definitely my “skinny jeans”. With very little stretch to them, they are probably the smallest jeans in my closet.  So I reached for them yesterday and low and behold…they FIT!  I am fully aware of how silly it is that this made me happy….but after the crazy few weeks I have had this brought a big old grin to my face:)  Also wanted to mention my classic fit button down I just purchased from GAP..definitely smitten with the fit and boyfriend feel of it.  Please forgive the messy bun and unmade face…I was rushing around to finish up a few clients before the holiday weekend!

Fun little giveaway today from a fellow Jersey Shore gal and her online accessories shop Jewel Girl!  I scored a few awesome friendship stackers and want to gift one to TWO of you:)  Check out the giveaway below and hope you have an AWESOME holiday weekend!

It’s Fab!

I was recently introduced to the site Fab.com and apparently I have been living under a rock.  With discounted  designer products in women and mens clothing, home decor, accessories, jewelry, rugs, art, pets and more….how did I just find out about this site?  Also finding it really cool that many of the designers are ones I am not familiar with…..I love owning items that you won’t see on everyone which is why I am such a huge supporter of boutique clothing. I am trying to carry this mantra over into my home decor…I still love Pottery Barn and Ballard Design…but it would be great to infuse some unique pieces that make the rooms in our house a little less “catalog” and a little more a representation of our journey, style and taste.  Forgive me in advance if the feature seems all over the place…It IS!  I was having so much fun cruising around the site coming up with my wish list!  So in no particular order, here are the items I am crushing on…Hope you will pop by and have a look at their site!  I am off to the Florida Keys for a wedding weekend.  I will be sharing my fashion on Facebook and Instagram (carlytsf) so please follow along if you wish! Happy Weekend:)

Sunny and Warm

This look felt comfortable and classic while the studded boots and faux leather leggings kept it young and fresh.  The combination of yellow and black can be reminiscent of a bumble bee, so the trick for me was layering and adding dimension with accent colors and accessories.  I think this is my favorite casual outfit to date….I am not sure why….maybe the yellow blazer has me dreaming of sunny warm weather….I hope you like it as much as I do and find some outfit inspiration:)

Tribal Makes a Powerful Statement

I had this necklace up on my shopping site for a few weeks and for some reason it didn’t sell. I was starting to wonder why I was the only one who thought it was SUPER fabulous? Hmmm. I took it down from the site and decided to wear it out and about the other day- Handmade by a local artist, I am loving that it is a total STATEMENT piece….turning my simple white and chocolate brown outfit into a tribal sensation. Now I really want it to my part of my permanent collection….but….if it must be yours…..I can always be swayed:)
Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Shopping!

Blazer SA VA, Tank Gap, Second Denim Co Yoga Jeans, Belt Nicole Miller, Shoes Manolo Blahnik, Earrings Stella and Dot, Sunglasses Ray Ban

I think these white Yoga Jeans deserve an honorable mention.  Not usually a fan of white skinnies on myself (I have a larger rear end), I have made an exception for this particular pair.  These jeans by Second Denim have an AMAZING fit- they also have a higher rise- so I am not showing a** crack when I bend over…which is always nice for a mom on the go:)  Email me with interest- They retail for $129.00

Lord knows I don’t need another necklace….so it is available for purchase if you have fallen in love.

Have You Heard? Zazou Highlight

My aunt owns the cutest little floral/gift boutique called Andi’s in Bay Head NJ. I recently stopped in for a gift and discovered this HAT. I did still buy the gift, but left with this little something for myself too. How could I leave it there? I immediately fell in love with its 20’s vibe and the pricetag was so friendly. Anxious to learn more about this brand Zazou Luxe I visited their site and fell in love with pretty much everything…AND…realized that I was wearing my hat the wrong way…Not sure I care…I really like the flower in the front. My favorite picks are below but you should visit the site and shop for yourself. One thing is cuter than the next and everything is reasonably priced. Great for you and especially great for giftgiving.

The hat I bought..Comes in a variety of colors and retails for $30.00

Loving this leopard Beret for $33.00

Who wouldn’t want to add a little sparkle to their outerwear. Sequin Beret is $38.00

Crocheted Bamboo Beret $33.00

Leopard Velvet Scarf for $90.00

So unique (they are calling it a stranded necklace made of fabric and probably won’t keep you warm) for $23.00

Double Weave Wool Shawl for $58.00 Love the sampled color on this one!

Comfortable as a Cloud!

Hi all. Hubby and I are heading out…dropping Connor with my parents and going to shop til we drop for the lil man. Hitting ToysRus, Baby Gap, Janie and Jack and all the usual suspects. Also going to grab an early dinner. I wanted to be comfortable (and chic) so I immediately grabbed my Tempo Paris Ivory Sweatercoat. I heart this sweater and literally feel like I am wrapped up in a cloud when I wear it. The rest of the pieces are a closet dive. Hope you find some inspiration!
