Do you remember when I gave away this killer Camo Scarf compliments of Luxe Auctions? Well, Luxe Auctions has now become online accessories boutique SusieRaine and you are going to swoon! Susie has an incredible eye for beautiful baubles at affordable prices. As a fellow Jersey gal…we were just itching to partner up again. She let me choose an awesome scarf to sell exclusively to TSF readers. I chose this amazing americana lightweight scarf featured below. This will be a major repeat offender in the coming months, so if you are hesitating…DON’T…it is ONLY $19 and you can just copy all of my outfit ideas. Ha!
Loving it all “glam” with leather leggings and killer loubs….but I can totally see it with distressed boyfriend jeans, sandals and a black tee. Fail safe…”I look cool but like I didn’t try at all” outfit. What do you all think? Digging the look? How would you style the scarf? Hope you find some outfit inspiration and HAPPY SHOPPING!

If you follow along with me on Pinterest, you will see a plethora of all black inspiration photos and I have featured the look on the blog before here. I really adore the slimming effect and with many black garments to choose from, it always makes getting dressed pretty easy. The trick is making sure to pair up completely different fabrications and textures. For example, my distressed black jeans are denim…and in order to make them NOT appear dingy, I paired them with a cableknit sweater. The fabrications are totally different…instead of looking non-matched or too worn…it just added some much needed dimension to the look. To polish it off, I popped a favorite plaid shirt underneath and a red infiniti scarf. Perfect daytime look for this busy working mama! In other news…I picked up all of the spring camos yesterday and will be shipping out to those of you who ordered by the end of the week. Oh, and if you are waiting on the jeans featured below…they should be coming in ANY day now! I hope everyone is having an awesome week and Happy Wednesday:)
Have linked up with the lovely Fashion Informant…join in the fun here….and…the lovely Baby Shopaholic here!
I wore this dress over the weekend. Both the dress and fedora were two of the gifts I received for Xmas from my favorite Philadelphia boutique Third Street Habit. The print on the dress mixes blue, black and a slew of other beautiful colors. I kept the styling simple keeping the hat, scarf, boots and jacket ALL black. I love it this way…but also can’t wait to style it for Spring with those sand colored Sole Society boots that just won’t quit! Anyway…. I am off to the NYC trade shows today…you can follow along on Instagram if you wish…I will be sure to share fashion tidbits throughout the day. I am really excited…as I have some really cool stuff cooking.. I can’t quite share until I have a few more details set in stone…but I should be able to SOON! Hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great week:)
Santa was good to us again this year. The boys got some really awesome toys…my husband and I had joy of watching them open their gifts…truly amazing…seeing Christmas through the eyes of your children….sappy enough for you? Don’t worry…I am sharing some of my gifts too! My husband hit one of my favorite Philadelphia boutiques this year, Third Street Habit. If you are ever in Philly…its one NOT to miss. The owner has bohemian chic down…and I always love her selection of Free People and Sanctuary. I received the dress featured below….a super cool fedora….as well as a few other gems….all of which you will see VERY soon on the blog! Infact…we are keeping it low key for New Years Eve …and I was thinking Bohemian might just be the way to go….what do you all think? Do you lean towards glitter and sequins for New Years Eve…or would you rock the bohemian vibe too? Still undecided so stay tuned…..
Is it possible to be extremely grateful and extremely overwhelmed at the same time? Well, yes it is….I am so thankful for all these amazing opportunity to be shopping for clients with less than FIVE days until Xmas…but I am so freaking overwhelmed to get it all done and still have everything wrapped and ready to go for my OWN loved ones. My rational self knows I will get it all done….but my emotional self is all over the damn place.
I shot these down by the train tracks again with the lovely Amy of Adalie Scott Photography….these might be some of my favorite shots EVER on the blog! I have been sporting these red heels like no other lately..don’t pretend like you didn’t notice. I am not ashamed. They are just the perfect compliment to all the classic black and white I wear. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Wednesday:)
A few years ago, when I was brand new to the blogging gig, I stumbled across Fashion-isha! I remember thinking Sharon had the most contagious smile. When I read on and realized she lived at the Jersey Shore, not ten miles from me, I was elated. I adore networking online….but in person? Well, that is my jam:)
We have met a few times and shared our stories, blogging journeys, desires in the fashion industry. At our most recent meetup we were trying to come up with a way to collaborate and potentially involve other New Jersey fashion and lifestyle bloggers. With shows like Jersey Shore and Jerseylicious there is a negative image about fashion in this great state. Sharon and I come from very different backgrounds and cultures…but we both agree on tasteful fashion…I wouldn’t quite say I am modest…I take risks…but I also know the difference between classy and trashy…and what works for my age and body type. Our collaboration was born….showcasing THE REAL JERSEY SHORE style and inviting others to join in the fun. Please leave a comment or shoot one of us an email if you are a fellow Jersey blogger and are interested in getting in on the FUN…we don’t have a specific plan…but would love to connect with like-minded women who live in this beautiful state!
Sharon and I have both styled up our takes on the classic combination of ivory and black. You simply can’t go wrong with this color combo. Don’t forget to pop by Fashion-isha to check out how Sharon has styled her look. I know you will love her blog…her energy and zest for life are very much alive on her blog and she finds the most beautiful inspirational photos for fashion and home decor! Happy Wednesday:)
I am getting sad. Tanya is transitioning and focusing on a really amazing new site she started called Sechior– it’s a style video series and if you haven’t popped by yet…you should! With all the amazing changes coming her way..we have decided that December will be our last East West Mamas feature. Boo hoo hoo:( I have really loved the friendship and fashion inspiration she has provided over the last year…and although we will continue to connect regularly..it won’t be the same as actually working together….BUT…I couldn’t be more elated for her new adventure. I will save the rest of the sap for when I actually have to bid farewell next month…
We are highlighting a fabulous sponsor this month… Ace Commune. The designer, a Japanese artist from Toyko who is now creating in California is truly a unique talent. I love the simplicity of the pieces…and they are edgy and yet dainty, which honestly is a nice change of pace from all the “statement” jewelry that we often wear. I adore the earrings and necklace I am sporting below…it is hard to part with them for this giveaway…BUT…tis the season! Please enter to win below!
Guilty Soles offered me a months membership to see what their brand is all about. I was immediately excited when I started browsing because they carry cute wedge sneaker options (a trend I have been hesitating on, but dying to try). The site is extremely trend driven, so don’t think you will be finding a classic pair of pumps….but they do have cool funky items like these heels, these booties, and even cute trendy bags like this studded clutch. I picked this pair of sneakers featured below and am really happy with them. Since I have the month membership and any purchases will only be $20, I think I might order these for Spring too!
I would be neglecting the obvious if I didn’t point out that I typically wear more expensive shoes. My husband gifts me beautiful pairs of designer shoes a few times a year….but not all my shoes are pricey. Much like I dress from Nicole Miller to Old Navy, I follow suit with my shoe collection owning Christian Louboutin and Vera Wang for Kohls. I splurge on classics and go inexpensive on trendy footwear that will only last a season. I could see myself utilizing their site for fun trendy shoes that I would typically purchase from JC Penney, Target or Kohls. The quality and fit of my kicks is exactly that of these budget friendly stores and all their designer collaborations.
The way it works…purchase a months membership ($29.99) and any shoe/bag you order that month is $20….or a years membership ($49.99) and any shoe/bag you order all year is $20. The shoes are completely exchangeable 365 days a year and satisfaction guaranteed…if you don’t like them, you don’t have to keep them.
Guilty Soles has so kindly offered to gift one of you a free months membership to their site. So, anything you purchased would be $20. I like to make things as simple as possible, so please just leave a comment below with your contact email. I will choose a winner at random in one week 2/11/13. Open Internationally.

If you are interested in trying this wedge sneaker trend but aren’t sure….let me sway you……These shoes seriously made me feel like I was 15 years old again!!! Love how they look with skinny jeans and leggings and plan to wear them as the on trend modern mom I am:) Happy Shopping.

* I was given a free months membership but paid for the shoes in the above post and all opinions are my own.
This look felt comfortable and classic while the studded boots and faux leather leggings kept it young and fresh. The combination of yellow and black can be reminiscent of a bumble bee, so the trick for me was layering and adding dimension with accent colors and accessories. I think this is my favorite casual outfit to date….I am not sure why….maybe the yellow blazer has me dreaming of sunny warm weather….I hope you like it as much as I do and find some outfit inspiration:)

When the company Tailor4Less reached out to see if I wanted to partner with them, I was totally game. They have a great selection of custom suits for both men and women but what really grabbed my attention were their womens shirts. I have had a crush on the plaid button down trend for some time, so this was the perfect opportunity to try it out. What was really cool about this brand is the customization. Once you decide on the style and print for your shirt (mine is the boyfriend in Rainswood) the site takes you through entering your specific measurements. For me, this was a fantastic feature. Ever since having my lil ones, I like shirts to hit on the longer side…I was able to add a few inches to my torso length to ensure that it would hit where I wanted it to. As you know, I never feature anything I don’t love here on the site…and I was super happy with my blouse. Infact, with a very reasonable $49 price tag, I am planning to order a few in lighter prints for the Spring. Distressed jeans and a fabulous button down anyone? For now, I will stick with my leather skinnies….Hope you find some outfit inspiration, Happy Shopping and hope you and yours have a fantastic New Years!!

A few weeks back I made a big purchase from Neiman Marcus Last Call. They were offering an additional 50% off of their already discounted prices and there were so many great things….I may have gone a little crazy….but I was still careful to make smart choices. I ended up with flat motorcycle boots and a fur vest seen here and a cute bow sweater worn here…all of which I have worn numerous times this season. My only “jackpot” was this lumberjack blazer/jacket hybrid. Something made me add to cart, but I kept thinking I would probably return it. When it arrived, I immediately tried it on. Not only did it fit like a glove…it really stood out as something different from anything else in my wardrobe. So I decided, what the hell…and kept it! I will admit this is the first time I am wearing it…wore it all day to return some box client items, do some last minute shopping and then to my parents for a big family dinner. I received six compliments (yes I counted) so I would say it was a great purchase. Total lumberjack and oddly glam…I felt great in it! Hope you find some outfit inspiration:) I am off to wrap a mound of gifts for my little guys and put the final touches on my Xmas Eve celebration. I hope all of you have the happiest of holidays spent with your loved ones and everything you hold dear.

Okay Okay…little story here….My lil guy was wearing a different (non matching from his momma) outfit to dinner….then we did our business up the back and out of our diaper…outfit change needed….Nana had this to give for Xmas….and it was just too much of a photo op to not share with all of you. Little nugget is getting big…just about 4 months…and no, those aren’t marbles in his cheeks:)
Thirteen days without power and it has officially been RESTORED! Thank you to all of the line workers, specifically the crew from Virginia (how fitting my home state came to our aid) who brought our street back to life yesterday. Now that we are home, life can get somewhat back to normal….and since I am settled, I can now focus on donating items and offering to help extended family. My immediate family was spared any damage from Sandy but my aunt and my husbands family are left without homes and businesses….for them, the work of rebuilding is going to be a long hard journey that has just begun. Still heavily relying on comfort, I thought this bow sweater was a really sweet addition to my wardrobe and would easily dress up and down depending upon what I paired it with. Obviously more to the casual side here, as I went to watch the Alabama game (disappointing) at a local watering hole on Saturday afternoon. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and thank you for stopping by:)

Mother Nature sure is showing us who is boss. In the wake of Sandy, we have been hit with a Northeastern that has brought extremely cold temperatures and SNOW! I hit the post office and ran a few errands today before the snow really started to stick to the roads. Sharing what I wore today…my post baby “goal” snakeskins….normally would be very exciting….but with everything that is going on here at the Jersey Shore….my slight weight loss and ability to squeeze into skinnies is completely underwhelming. I hope you find some outfit inspiration, but most importantly, I hope you continue to support the relief efforts of Hurricane Sandy.

OK, maybe not the official LAST call….but compatible weather for full on leather pants is slowly coming to an end. Since they were a total splurge, I am trying to wear them a few more times before seasonal retirement. In order to feel daytime appropriate……I paired my skin tight pants with an easy to wear button down and cardigan. I am calling it the “mullet” look…all business on top and complete party down below:) Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a great week!

Do you remember my Christmas List posted here? I shared on FB that hubs prepared me…the Brian Atwood’s wouldn’t be under the tree (sold out). I was sad but found an equally fabulous pair of Stuart Weitzman’s to admire. Well, he lied. They were under my tree…and now featured in this outfit post! How amazing are they? Let me count the ways…j/k. I know you are probably thinking that FUR VEST again Carly…really? The truth is, I wear this vest at least twice a week. I think I can safely say this “splurge” has come down to dollars per wear…might not impress some of my super thrifting blog buddies, but pretty darn good for me:) Oh and I have also decided that navy blue and black are besties:) Off to visit some friends in DC and attend a baby soiree…and of course, I styled her for the shower..photos to come…hope you find some inspiration!
