Ah, where to start today…where to start? If you are a personal friend on FB you may have seen me make mention of having the most disappointing of days yesterday. Someone, who I thought was truly a friend…heard something about me..thought the worst of me…. When we finally spoke, I apologized about our misunderstanding from a really humble and honest place (I am a Libra, so if you tell me your side of things, I will always most likely understand). This friend of over 4 years did not take accept that apology…..instead continued on…saying she is too trusting of people like me. People like me? Close to tears, I left the conversation. Walked away. I feel horrible about it. I have lost a relationship and that is always hard. I am taking solace in knowing that although I am totally flawed in many ways, at my core is a really good person who tries to do her best for her family, friends, clients and herself. I have to believe in that…and myself….more than this nonsense drama…right? Right? Well that is my mantra anyway.
On a much lighter note…how freaking fabulous is this RD Style dress? I am obsessed with it…dreaming up different ways to wear it. Bright shoes….with a blazer….without a belt…big colorful statement necklace….you see the limitless possibilities…no? Since I am mentally exhausted and actually about to head out for a Roll in the Rack with a new client…I will leave you with the photos. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great weekend:)
I wore this all white look out for Girls Night on Saturday:) A few friends and I had dinner at our favorite sushi joint and then hit a riverside bar afterwards. I haven’t danced that much in a long time…and it felt GOOD! I have mentioned before that I reserve most of my “white” attire (aside from casual tees) for adult time. When I am with the kids…white just does NOT make sense…but a night out with the girls is the perfect time to rock this trend! So stylish! How about you? Would you wear all white?
It is #MondayMingle time and I am happy to be hosting this week! Please be sure to pop by and see what Kristin of BonBon Rose Girls and Nicole of Momtrends are wearing on this glorious Monday. I hope you will link up your stylish posts below:) Make it a great week.
Let me start off by saying, I bought two pairs of these distressed white jeans featured above. I knew I would wear them a ton and I know how tricky (easily stained) white can be. I reserve one pair for adult time and one pair for family activity. So, before you judge for featuring them back to back (and wearing them nonstop) I wanted to share that minor detail:)
I know many clients and readers resist white denim…actually white anything. Truth be told, it IS hard to keep whites white…and with small children, it is even harder. I say use your smarts ladies….if you are heading to a backyard BBQ with freshly cut grass and ketchup as the main side, I would skip the white. However, if you are heading out for a drink or to dinner with a friend, they are the perfect summertime look!
I also want to make mention of the fabulous wedges sent to me from YellowBox Shoes. The brand is a new discovery for me….and you know when I love it, I share it! These striped wedges are adorable and affordable. A winning combination. For some reason I like spending less on my summer shoe wardrobe and can definitely see myself investing in a few cute pairs from their site. Infact, I just picked these up yesterday while out an about shopping for clients. Turns out, one of the boutiques I work with carries YellowBox shoes…even further confirmation they are a great brand! Happy Shopping:)
I hope all you mamas had a wonderful Mothers Day. Mine was just as I wished it be….relaxing! As many of you know I had a “boutique tour” in Maryland. Friday night, I had a smaller event with five of my The Box Service clients and then Saturday my dearest friend and FIRST client hosted an all day open house. I brought my favorite boutique finds and set up Stella and Dot. We all shopped til we dropped- First thing Sunday I packed up and traveled home. I am exhausted but it was a wonderful weekend:)
It is #MondayMingle time….with my lovely and stylish friends Kristin of BonBon Rose Girls and Nicole of Momtrends. I am keeping it classic in stripes. When my style is simple, I always like to add in some interesting elements. In this case, distressed skinnies and pops of orange. How do you keep your classics fresh and modern?
I hope you will join in the fashion fun by linking up below and be sure to pop by and visit Kristin and Nicole🙂

As you know from repeated features on the blog, I really love Sole Society for on trend affordable shoes, bags and accessories. Their selection is amazing for any circumstance….mom on the go, workday chic or weekend wear. I was recently gifted these heels but alas (after my feature) they sold out! So glad many of you loved them and made the purchase….I am ADORING mine! The warm weather (finally) allowed me to take my new Spring fedora and Coco cross-body bag for a spin….pairing it with my favorite camos last featured here. I hope you find some outfit inspiration and don’t forget to pop by Nicole’s blog to join in the Monday Mingle fun!
Most of you have seen the new do on social media. I really love it and dare I say am reinvigorated. It has been seven years since I have lightened or changed my hair….crazy, right? The constant picture taking for this blog often leaves me in constant critique of myself. Lately, I have just been feeling. …well…blah:( So, although I wasn’t ready to ditch the length, the color was something I was willing to play around with. All said and done…there is a little extra “pep in my step” ladies. So if you are thinking of going lighter for Spring…GO FOR IT!
I knew I would be wearing this moto jacket again…and again…and again. It is just so easy to throw on and look instantly chic. With so many faux options, it really is an affordable trend to jump on….and I am certain you will wear it constantly this Spring. So what are you waiting for? Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a GREAT weekend:)
In and out with mainstream retailers for years, perforated looks came back on the scene this past fall…specifically landing on leather pieces…..if you aren’t sure what I mean take a look here. Perforated is a fancy word for holes, literally. Leave it to the fashion community to make holes super chic and on trend. Anyway…perforation is back for Spring baby….and is showing up on clothing, bags, jewelry and shoes. I am a fan. How about you? Here are a few of my favorites from around the web. I will be back Friday with a fun casual look sporting my new DO! Happy Reading.
*You will see the Aerosoles below in an outfit post soon- Full disclosure…it is like encasing your feet in a waterbed.
This fabulous outfit is compliments of Max Jeans. I have worn this denim shirt countless times already like here.I am certain the red skinnies will get just as much play as I am smitten with the on trend ankle length, overall fit and zipper details. “Max Jeans is a new division of the Max Studio and Leon Max family. Our vision was to create a brand that provides timeless style and versatility for a woman’s wardrobe. Using the latest innovative techniques and washes, Max Jeans provides our customer with great fitting, high quality jeans, that’s fashionably sophisticated, while maintaining affordable prices.” Hope you pop by their site to shop all their fabulous Spring styles. A few of my favs are here, here and here.
My favorite photographer, Amy of Adalie Scott Photography and I hit Asbury Park for this photo session. She is SO talented. As we pull up to a new site…she literally scans the area…and within moments has the perfect innovative shot. I LOVE this first one, me and this lady of the sea having a moment. Check out Amys Facebook Page and site. Currently, she is booking $35 mini sessions and you will NOT be disappointed. Email her for further inquiry at firstname.lastname@example.org
It is #Monday Mingle time ladies! The fashionable linkup between myself, Bon Bon Rose Girls and Momtrends. The link is over with Nicole today….Hope you will pop by and join in the fun. Great giveaway this month as well…so be sure to enter when you stop by:)
As many of you know, The Box Service has started and is full steam ahead! I have been creating two to three boxes a week and wanted to share with all of you the trends and must-haves that are making it into every personalized package. If you aren’t able to book a service with me this Spring….maybe this will help guide you to some online options. Happy Shopping!
* Gladiator sandals are always fashionable in the spring and summer months. They are looking a little more extreme this spring however….many designers have sailed right on passed the ankle and are taking that sandal all the way to the knee. At first I wasn’t sure…but as I see more and more designs emerge, I have decided it is a really fun trend for Spring. It will take that jeanshort and tee look to a whole different fashionable level. I have included lots of options below…a few on the safer side and few that are more daring. This is a trend I am totally behind and plan to purchase one of the extreme pairs below!
*Crop Topscame on the scene last Spring but were reserved for tweens and celebs that haven’t eaten a burger in five years ever. The trend is continuing and has become more mainstream. At first, I wasn’t sure I could embrace it but as more adorable designs arrived in this “shorter” style, I decided to give it a try for both myself and my clientele. As a thirty-something you have to be careful of this trend. I am staying on the conservative side of this one, opting for loser fitting tops that are in line with your belly button, not up to the bustline. I am also suggesting a fitted tank for underneath if you aren’t comfortable showing midriff. I admit, this isn’t a trend for all…but I wouldn’t be reporting honestly back from the retail trenches if I didn’t make mention of it.
* White leather is everywhere. Just last week one of the boutiques I work with received a white leather mini, white leather vest and white leather leggings all in one shipment. I am SOLD on this trend. Love it! If you aren’t comfortable going FULL on leather…try the trend with your accessories like a great white belt, bag or pumps!
I adore the simple pairing of black and white….classic, chic and never out of style. I especially love it paired with a pop of color. For me, that pop of color is often orange. If I were to have a signature color, orange is what it would be. I have some amazing investment pieces in the color, one being the Marc Jacobs bag featured below. I am also fairly certain no other accessory has gotten as much wear as this Zolie Designs statement necklace.
Style tip: Spice up your classic black and white pieces with your favorite bright colored accessories. It is a subtle way to welcome Spring without looking like you are trying too hard.
Hope you find some outfit inspiration! We finally have some warmer temperatures here in Jersey…and even though they come with rain, I am NOT complaining. Happy weekend to all:)
On Monday, I put my big girl pants (fair enough, tights) on and braved the cold into the great city of New York. I had a few blogging friends I was dying to see…..Glamamom, BonBon Rose Girls and Momtrends. We met at the delicious Rosa Mexicano across from the Lincoln Center…shared fabulous conversation and unbelievable guacamole….then head over to take a few outfit shots, of course! I was supposed to head to the Alice and Olivia presentation…but a few too many margaritas had me ditch it and just take the train home. If you break it down, my fashion week experience involved very little fashion at all…and as Andy Grammer would say…”that’s Fine by Me”!
I first wore yellow and black together here and then here and have been smitten ever since. I really adore ANY bright colored blazer and would completely recommend one for Spring. It can completely transform your basic black clothing for transitional weather (like now) and be styled well into the spring and summer months. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have an awesome weekend!!

I was recently hired to give a style seminar to a networking group comprised of women in the healthcare industry. I assumed they would walk in with boring dark suits and zilch in the accessories department…..totally wrong….and completely surprised! The women looked fabulous….beautiful scarves, fun jewelry and one attendee even had a leopard pencil skirt on. I had a great time sharing style tips with this fashionable group and covered topics like mixing metals, scarf tying and how to take your work wardrobe and make it work for weekends. At the end of the presentation I opened it up to the audience…what did they want to know? An entire ten minute discussion opened up about the lack of fashionable womens plus size brands. This is a topic I have been struggling with my entire retail career. For some reason, most boutiques just do not carry plus size brands. It is a shame…I couldn’t agree more and if/when I have my store, I promise (and you can hold me to it) to have a plus sized section for women who do not fit in the size 0 to 12 mold. The up side? I was really pleased in my research to find some amazing online resources like Nordstroms with brands like Maggy London and Vince Camuto, One Stop Plus featuring uber stylish brands like Ulla Popken and Jessica London, Karen Kane and even Old Navy.
I am featuring my favorite picks for a few items that will work now and into early Spring….transitional pieces if you will. The unique part of this feature….I will be featuring a plus size option as well:) I can’t promise that I will do this in every post…but I will do my absolute best to include options when I can moving forward. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST with anyone who is plus sized and frustrated with shopping…maybe I can turn them onto a new resource to feel fashionable this Spring! At the end of the day, I want to inspire all women to look and feel their best:) Happy Wednesday!
Black and White Blouse: This is a definite must have for Spring. Black and White is always on trend and can be styled countless ways.

As many of you know, I completely overhauled my site about three months ago. I am elated with how it turned out and am finally starting to get the hang of WordPress. One of the major annoyances however, was that I had to recategorize all four years worth of posts. See those nifty categories on the right sidebar….like Fall Fashion or Maternity Style…. that make it easy for guests to navigate around the site….well they were a pain in my a**. I have literally been working on it for three months…categorizing a few posts a night before I went to bed.
There was a silver lining. I was able to rediscover my blog, appreciate all of my hard work these past few years and it has taken me on a personal journey of style…and I have to say…I still love 95 percent of the outfits I have featured on TSF. I was so inspired, I decided to choose a few of my favorites (and yours) and restyle them with items that are currently retailing in stores. Fair warning…you will see a few with my big old belly…turns out some of my maternity looks were just begging to be recreated…minus the bump! Hope you all love this post as much as I do….busy week ahead planning for an event and a closet makeover on Friday:) Back Wednesday with a style post! Make it a great week!
This outfit is old…like before I was even pregnant with Preston….but I love it as much now as I did then. I still have the killer Nicole Miller blouse however the pants, shoes and earrings have all been consigned or donated. Here is how I plan to recreate this look for Spring 2014.
This maternity look was quite controversial on Pinterest…look at the commentshere. Crazy, right? In no way shape or form is this outfit scandalous…expecting or not! I decided it is one of my favorite looks and want to recreate it this Spring. A few updates to my look below!
This was also a highly pinned outfit from my Pregnancy Board…also super cute for those of us that don’t have a bun in the oven too! I definitely need to recreate this look for early Spring….now the warmer weather just needs to arrive!
This was a favorite from Pinterest as well….maybe my most popular ever? I wore this last winter…for a holiday party. I love the look and think it could easily take you into the warmer months with some color and accessory adjustments.
I have always adored camo and owned multiple pieces before the “craze” this past fall….therefore, it is definitely something I will be continuing to wear well into the warmer months. This spring inspired camo arrived last week in stores and the boutique owner pulled my size and texted me immediately. I raced to the store to check them out…obviously:) These SOLD camos are done SO right…tans and ivories…yes please! I love trends, layers and accessories….but when you really break it down, my style is relatively simple and clean. I adore this simple easy outfit. Could potentially be a new uniform..printed jean, silky blouse, simple necklace and nude pump. Love it! What do you all think? Will you be wearing camo this spring? I hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Friday:)
* Camos are available for purchase $154.00 (size 27 is sold out). Message me with interest…I doubt these will still be in stock for spring boxes.
Firstly, completely unrelated to all things fashion or the outfit post below…but it wouldn’t be right to share all about this glorious dress and not make mention of the complete devastation that has hit the Jersey Shore yet AGAIN. A few towns over,in Seaside, a huge fire has destroyed half of the boardwalk…buildings and businesses that have been there for decades…just gone. I am not sure how much more the towns here can bear but please say a little prayer for the families, businesses, firefighters and first responders. My heart breaks as people rally to rebuild…again.
Today is my husbands 35th birthday…Happy Bday babe! He is off to golf and we are planning a big family dinner…cake and all…for tonight. Last night, we decided to go to dinner, just the two of us. I have been itching to wear this Von Vonni dress again…it is probably my most favorite dress…EVER! I needed a way to bring a more casual vibe to it…and my trusted Rachel Zoe leather vest did the trick. I kept the rest of the look really really simple…minimal makeup and hair in a ponytail. My favorite mixture of sweet and edgy, this outfit will go down as a favorite of mine. Style tip here is to consider layering you favorite summer dresses with vests and outerwear for a more fall inspired look….perfect way to get more wear out of your more formal items. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and check out my tips for layering necklaces below! Happy weekend to ALL!!!
Dress Von Vonni (older style), Rachel Zoe Vest (older style), Shoes Calvin Klein (old), Clutch Louis Vuitton (old), Necklaces c/o SilverSpeck and Lola’s Boutique
I love this trend and am glad to see it making a comeback. I have been rocking it for quite some time!
I might be in the minority, but I don’t think there are a ton of rules to layering. My advice…
1. The most important thing to remember is all of the necklaces you choose to wear must be different lengths. I would say make sure there is at least an inch between where they hit on your neckline.
2. I love the mixture of metals like you see above. It is a modern take and shows you aren’t afraid to have a little fun! Of course, all gold or all silver look great too!
3. Really it is about letting your personality shine through. Much like any accessory it is an expression of who YOU are. Do what feels right for you.
