Baby Bump to Gear…Maternity Fashion Week!

Times are changing ladies….gone are the days when pregnant women gave up on their personal style for nine months.  We are demanding to look fashionable while are bellies grow!  I am happy to be partnering with a great site Bump to Baby Gear ….written by three sisters with a whole bunch of kiddies….they know their stuff when it comes to all things baby and toddler.

This week the site kicked off a Maternity Fashion Week event that runs all of this week. Pregnant mamas, you should definitely hop over to check out fall looks and $700+ in giveaways from Prelegant, Isabella Oliver, Madderson London, Madeleine Maternity and Borrow For Your Bump. You may recognize some of these brands from my maternity posts.  All of these maternity retailers sell beautiful, flattering clothing and have great options for dressing a growing bump during the fall and winter months.

You can view the full schedule of Maternity Fashion Week features and giveaways here at Below is a little more detail about the five brands participating in Maternity Fashion Week:

Prelegant is an online maternity retailer that offers elegant maternity wear appropriate for a more formal office or an evening out. It is also the only place online in the U.S. you can buy certain chic European maternity brands like L’Avenues des Bebes and Pomkin.

Isabella Oliver is a British-based maternity brand that sells a large variety of beautiful maternity clothing in flattering fabrics. Many of the brand’s pieces have a simple, classic and tailored look.

Madderson London is a new maternity brand that just launched last week with a mom-to-be at the helm. It is UK-based (but ships to the US) and offers a small selection of stunning dresses at the moment. Isn’t the ad campaign gorgeous?

Madeleine Maternity is a stylish maternity brand with a small, but beautiful collection of dresses that are affordably priced. I discovered this brand late in my own pregnancy and shared a photo of the black and pink kimono-style dress I wore on a night out when I was 8 months along.

Borrow For Your Bump allows you to rent (or buy) maternity wear as your figure grows. This is such a great option, especially if you need maternity work wear, a special occasion dress or just a little bit of new style infusion into your maternity wardrobe.

Good luck entering all the FABULOUS giveaways!  Happy Shopping!

Bump Round Up

If you are reading this post…I am giving birth to my sweet baby boy and am in the hospital:)  Thought it would be fitting to take you through my maternity fashion journey month by month, brand by brand, outfit by outfit.  Bear with me as we settle in as a family of four and I will be sure to share pictures as soon as I am up to it.  Hope you enjoy my bump round up and I will be back to blogging very soon:)

 3 Months…..

Cake Maternity Lingerie    One of the first features after my official pregnancy announcement was Cake Lingerie.  The above pajama set has gotten SO much wear in the past months because the comfort is simply unmatched.  I also purchased two nursing bra’s that I am (dare I say) excited to wear. Awesome maternity lingerie line that I highly recommend!

4 months….

Old Navy Maternity Wear  If you read along you know I am a fan of Old Navy for various casual items and maternity was no exception.  From posts here, herehere and here you can see how frequently I wore the black maxi….it is about to disintegrate on it’s last leg. I highly recommend their maternity line for affordable casual pieces that can take you anywhere with creative styling.

5 months…..

Liz Lange Maternity Wear for Target   Target can also be a great affordable resource for trendy of the moment clothing.  The stand out for me was specifically the “Liz Lange” line.  I wore this dress a few times like above and also here.  The other great “find” were the tanks I featured here. Much like Old Navy, for maternity wear that doesn’t break the bank, Target is a great place to go!

6 months…..

SAVA Sometimes sizing up from a brand you already adore can work for maternity wear as well.  By choosing styles that are worn loosely and away from the body, I was able to sport one of my favorite Philadelphia brands throughout my pregnancy like here, here and here.  I plan to take both tie dyed maxi’s to a professional and have them taken in for post wear as well…they are just too darn pretty to tuck away in my closet.

7 months….

Ingrid and Isabel Maternity Line  This brand is a “must” for pregnant women due to the fabulous Bellaband.  There are a lot of copies out there, but none work as well or hold up as well as the original.  I also adore their seamless leggings as worn above and also here.  This brands clothing is on the pricier side so I stuck to a few basics and left it at that.  They do have great sales from time to time, so if you are expecting it is worth popping by their site online.

 8 months….

Madeleine Maternity  I learned of this stylish maternity brand a little late in game but was still able to wear this beautiful dress to a fun night out on the town 8 months pregnant.  I have been an even mix of non maternity and maternity wear throughout my pregnancy….but by this point, it is nice to have “actual” maternity clothing that gives ample room through the tummy, has the women’s pregnant body in mind and fits perfectly!

9 months…..

Von Vonni and Coin 1804   Both of these brands are NON maternity but have served me quite well throughout the nine months.  This Von Vonni dress has been worn multiple times like here, the fit of this transformer dress is SO complimentary to the growing pregnant body/belly!  The Coin 1804 Vest was such an amazing accent piece..check out my posts here and here.  I plan to continue wearing them post pregnancy….they are just so easy!

As promised, I am documenting myself til the bitter end….37 weeks and counting folks. This Von Vonni has proven to be a great non maternity, maternity dress. I find myself turning to the same three maxi dresses and relying solely on accessories to make my look fresh and unique. We had a final (before baby) get together with my husbands family yesterday and this was what I wore. The Coin 1804 vest has been a staple on the scene as you may remember from this post and I recently purchased the Stella and Dot necklace below.  I have had my eye on it for a while and then a friend of mine had a party, necklace was on sale, the rest is history.  Smitten with all the neutral tones here…kind of speaks to the transition from summer to fall. Are you as excited as I am for earth tones, jeans, boots and layers? Hope you find some outfit inspiration and make it a great week:)

Dress Von Vonni similar available here,  Vest c/o Coin 1804 available here,  Stella and Dot Necklace no longer available but similar here,  Bracelets mix of Lia Sophia and Leigh Ann Barnes, Clutch Louis Vuitton, Shoes Stuart Weitzman

I was recently introduced to a great little online shop called SwayChic.  They kindly offered to send me a few of my favorite pieces so I chose a little something for now… adorable striped shirt featured below…..and a little something for later….cute as a button leopard swing dress.  It was so hard to choose….and I will be a regular shopper on this site for sure!  When you need that “lil something” to spice up your wardrobe, but don’t want to break the bank….this is the perfect resource.  The models and styling are definitely a little young, but look past….because the clothing is totally a mix of trendy mom on the go or mom out on the town with friends.  Some stand out pieces for early fall are thisthis and this.  There is also a KILLER SALE going on…with items under $10….So hop over and Happy Shopping!

Multi Color Blouse c/o SwayChic and available here,  Denim Vest Old Navy, Black Tank Gap (old), Maternity Leggings Ingrid and Isabel, Necklace Stella and Dot, Sandals Nine West, Bag Marc Jacobs

This shirt would be great over a black form fitted dress too, don’t you think?
Linking up with Monday Mingle here, hope you will join in the fun!  Enjoy your week:)

Madeleine Maternity

Starting the countdown…20 days folks!  Thank goodness, as there really isn’t much room left in the old midsection, that’s for sure.  I recently connected with a new maternity brand and wanted to share.  Honestly, I wish I had known about the line sooner….a small collection…but beautifully designed and curated items that are perfect for special events throughout your pregnancy.  It can be quite challenging to find “occasion” maternity wear in a mid range price point and Madeleine Maternity definitely delivers.  I am kind of “over” summer so I warmed up to this fall feeling black/hot pink kimono styled dress.  The owner was so kind to send it my way and I wore it out for dinner with friends this past weekend. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a great rest of the week!
Dress c/o Madeleine Maternity and available here, Earrings Sunshine Daydreams, Necklace c/o Chloe and Isabel, Clutch Louis Vuitton, Black Peep Toe’s Christian Louboutin

Summertime Sweater

I purchased this sweater from one of my favorite boutiques in Old City, Third Street Habit and although I was originally thinking I would save it for post pregnancy, I was dying to wear it and caved. We had this incredibly humid free gorgeous day and the lightweight sweater was the perfect attire.  Loving it with white….can’t wait to wear it with denim…… and even dreaming about pairing it with my leather skinnies….here is to hoping I can get in them this fall!  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a great weekend:)

White Skinnies Maternal America, Sweater Third Street Habit Boutique similar style available here, Tank Dynamic, Earrings c/o Stella and Dot available here , Clutch c/o Andi’s Bayhead, Wedges Stuart Weitzman

Clutch also available in orange and black, $30 plus shipping.  Email with interest

At almost 34 weeks pregnant, I am ALL about comfort and the least restrictive fabrications. This Old Navy cotton maxi has been one of my best purchases throughout my entire pregnancy. It is the perfect backdrop for all my bright fun accessories because, let’s face it…accessories are all I am buying these days. I have been rotating the Coin 1804 vests in and out of my wardrobe on the daily….they are just the perfect stylish addition to any old dress. Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a great rest of the week!

Down to the Wire

It’s getting down to the wire….I officially have less than 8 weeks to go until baby boy arrives into this world:) I am beyond excited, extremely anxious (understatement- I have major anxiety with this pregnancy) and just ready with a capital R.  To keep me busy….I jam packed the month ahead….working in my last round of box clients, attending two boutique openings, hosting three blog giveaways and finishing up with an amazing interior designer (entire post dedicated to this later in the month) whom I hired to do the boys rooms.  Are you exhausted yet?  Getting a ton of wear out of this Old Navy maternity maxi…it has been fun throwing tops over it and finding creative ways to style it. Cost per wear is down to pennies for sure! Hope you find some outfit inspiration:)  Amazing giveaway coming this weekend…stay tuned!!!

Happy Memorial Day!

Heading out to hit the beach with the little guy but thought I would quickly share my festive blue and white from yesterday’s BBQ.  This Target dress has been a maternity favorite and was featured recently on the blog here.  Kind of fun to see how much the bump has grown in the past couple weeks….crazy to think I still have three more months of stretching to go!  All sorts of layers here….a must for Jersey Shore BBQ’s….as the sun goes down, the temperature quickly drops and I like to be prepared.  Two and half year old tugging at my leg to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine so not much else to say….Enjoy your Memorial Day…filled with family and friends…and take a moment to remember the brave heroes that are honored today:)

Maternity Mondays: Pop Pop Pop

What a great weekend:)  My husband didn’t have to work (he usually does) so we enjoyed the beautiful weather with trips to the park and boardwalk. This is the time of year that I ADORE living at the Jersey Shore.  Simple weekend wear featured….what made it modern and up to date were the little “pops” of color. The Sam Edelman’s are a new purchase…big fan of the neutral tone and then the “pop” of orange on the strap. I also love this Vintage Havana tank with the “pop” of neon yellow. All generally subtle, but add a little bit of interest. No maternity wear in this post, just a skirt with a lot of stretch and tank with major tummy forgiveness.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and have a great week:)

Black Tank Dynamic, Striped Tank Vintage Havana, Skirt Velvet c/o Third Street Habit , Fedora Lola’s Boutique, Necklace (short) gift (long) Katherine’s Boutique, Gold Hoops Lola’s Boutique, Sandals Sam Edelman

Longer necklace was a recent purchase from one of my “Box Service” boutiques. I love how it mixes and matches with pieces I already own.  More available for purchase $38. Email with interest.

Couldn’t resist featuring my lil man…wearing the most hilarious T-shirt.. it says “The Dark Side of the Spoon”.  When you laugh out loud in a children’s clothing boutique you have to make the purchase. Any other Pink Floyd fans out there?  (Tshirt from Sarah Kiddles in Point Pleasant)

As usual, I am linking up with the lovely ladies of Monday Mingle!  Fashion post? You should join in too!

Beach Photos

My family is finally taking the beach shots I have so desired for eons. We moved to the shore about three years ago and I have longed for a family beach photo shoot…but you know how life is…and my husband isn’t really a picture taking enthusiast….ironic, I know. With my leverage growing belly, I convinced him that a family/maternity shoot would be perfect to make it all happen. I have the men covered in distressed jeans and linen tops but mama was more complicated (women’s fashion always is, no?). I decided on this Calypso St. Bart Maxi and it arrived yesterday. It is a little snug through the bust (told bust to settle down for two weeks) but perfectly loose through body and really captures the natural organic look I really want. Below are my other inspirations for the shoot…wavy tousled hair and so on. I will be sure to share some of the photos!

Maternity PhotoShoot June 2012

Set to retire any day (due to my ever expanding waistline), I wore my favorite boyfriend jeans for a day of meetings and shopping.  If you don’t own a pair of boyfriend’s…I firmly suggest you invest.  Pregnant or not, they are the perfect balance of comfort and style for a mom on the go.  I love wearing them casually with t-shirt and TOMS but also adore pairing them with sky high heels and the silkiest blouse.  Not sure where to find a great pair?  How about clicking here to check out my polyvore set filled with lots of great boyfriend options.  Hope you find some outfit inspiration and Happy Shopping!
