Algenist: 10 Days of Beauty

As you might remember from my Five Minute Face, I use Neutrogena for a good amount of my skin care regiment.  The lotion, facewash and facial scrub are all my drugstore favorites.  Although I am happy with the results, I have noticed in the last year or so a few lines and creases that weren't there beforeI suppose they had to arrive sometime. Sigh

I have a few close friends who are in the business of all things "skin and beauty".  The one tip they all give is Serum...citing it a magical potion that decreases wrinkles, age spots and overall firmness of skin.  Infact, as soon as I turned thirty, they all advised me to add it to my daily routine. They have given me samples here and there...but nothing really stuck.  In the past few months I have been researching serums....so many of them are pricey...it is hard to just "take a chance" on one. So imagine the perfect timing when I was invited to join in the 10 Days of Beauty Challenge with the revolutionary brand Algenist.

I was sent their Reconstructing Serum to try and review for all of you.  I have been using the serum since Thursday applying it at night after washing my face.  The first two days were a little drying on my skin.  Nothing harsh or painful, just slightly dryer than normal....which in all fairness, could also have to do with the weather.  By day three I was noticing and feeling a difference.  Nothing drastic...certainly not in three days....but my skin feels smooth and I swear my under eye area looks better.....I am excited....to see something that might be working.  You can read about their specific findings in more detail here.

If you are anything like me, you might be weary of spending $95 on a small bottle of serum (bottle would probably last 2 months).  In the same breath, if something would diminish the appearance of the wrinkles and age spots that are starting to pop up...$95 sounds like a drop in the bucket.

GIVEAWAY!
Lucky for ONE OF YOU....Algenist is gifting an entire bottle of Reconstructing Serum (value $95.00) to a reader.  Just leave a comment below telling me what makes you feel beautiful and you are entered to win!  Please leave your email in the comment so I can contact if you win.  Open until 2/24/13 to US residents only.

If you are interested in staying connected with updates and information you can sign up for their newsletter. Thank you for reading and thank you to Algenist for sponsoring this post.

A timely skin-care consideration for me as well. Practically overnight I have 37-year-old-looking skin. Serums to the rescue! (I hope)

I am a huge fan of serums for sure. I am always open to try new brands of skin care. Right now I am using all Arbonne products which specializes in all natural ingredients. I like to know I am not using any chemicals but I can't say i feel drastically different.
Might check this out.
Daphne.

This stuff sounds great. What makes me feel beautiful? Honestly? The majority of the second trimester of my pregnancy :) I can't remember a time when I've felt happier, and how can you not feel beautiful -- about yourself AND about LIFE -- when you're happy? (Endorphins for the win!)

Well in all honesty I am not feeling very beautiful right now! Month 4 of Pregnancy and my skin has never been worse in my entire life! What happened to the glow I heard about?
A good nights rest and some mascara and lip gloss are my necessity if I have time for nothing else and that usually makes me feel good!

Would love to feel more beautiful - as my new years resolution (starting in Feb - which is typical for me, always late); is to take better care of myself, as I have taken a backseat to my 4 little guys and would like to reclaim some of their youth & energy!

My son makes me feel beautiful because he tells me I'm beautiful all of the time. He's always trying to pick out dresses for me to wear or picking out my shoes. He even offered to buy me a leopard print dress with his allowance he's saved. Full on leopard isn't really my thing, but I guess he likes it. He's four. I love him!

I'd love to have a chance to try this serum. I'm currently using Michelle Copeland's facelift cream (at $150 an ounce! Ouch!) and not seeing the results I expected for such a title and price. Perhaps a serum is my answer! Thanks for the chance to win!

The closer I get to the big 4-0 the more I swear by serums too. As for what makes me feel beautiful? Being at the beach with sun-kissed hair and skin, my hair naturally curly and no make-up (just sunblock).

I suppose I better enter this as I'm starting to see a few {sigh} wrinkles here and there too...

I feel beautiful when I am able to put the time into getting ready instead of running out the door in gym clothes. When my husband touches me just because and whispers how much he loves me just because. When my son sat, "mom you look awesome"
