Your My Obsession

So I have been hitting the gym hard this week to shed these last few lbs and haven't been in any blogworthy attire (event packed weekend so great outfits to share next week) but for now, I thought I would share my current obsessions. Here goes.....

So I have to give credit where credit is due.  If you don't follow along on Facebook (you should by clicking here), I recently asked readers about recommendations for scars for my c-section.  I knew I wanted a second child, so I wasn't that concerned about my scar the first time around...but we have decided our family feels very complete with the birth of Preston 4 months ago, so I am super focused on getting this scar looking as good as it possibly can.  Many of you recommended Bio Oil (which I had never heard of).  It is available at pretty much all local drugstores or online here.  I have only been using it for a week and I am beyond obsessed.  I am using it generously for my scar, but also have been using it on dry elbows, knees and feet and even mixed some in with my lotion this morning.  It isn't as greasy as one would expect from an oil and I love the scent.  Thank you FB friends as I give this product FIVE STARS ladies!!!!

The Dakota Earrings available here are my first purchase from the new Stella and Dot Collection.  I pinned them on my Fashion Wants Board last week and decided to just go for it!  I usually buy a few pieces per season as I find their jewelry to be on trend, well made and affordable.  I adore the mixed metals and bohemian vibe of this particular pair...they are perfect for Spring/Summer.  Of course, I won't be waiting to wear them, as you will most likely see them in an outfit post (or two or three) very soon.  I told you I was obsessed!!!   *sorry the image is so grainy I pulled them from the Stella and Dot Site

I started using Honest Products when Connor was about 2 1/2.  He only wore them for about 3 months before he was potty trained, but I really liked them and decided to stick with them for Preston as well.  I love them for a few important reasons and one silly reason:)  They are plant based, have no harsh chemicals and are biodegradable, so they are safe for my lil ones bum as well as safe for the environment.  As you can see from the above photo, they are available in a plethora of adorable prints and are so darn cute...(that being the silly reason).  I know some of you reading are thinking, they sound great but they are ridiculously expensive....in all "honesty" ...they really aren't much more.  I was buying a large box of diapers ($34.99) and wipes ($28.99) from Costco each month totaling about $64.00.  With Honest Diapers I am paying $79.00 per month but the items are delivered conveniently to my doorstep.  To me, the $15 difference is worth it for the peace of mind.  The only negative I can think of is that sometimes I run out of wipes and have to buy an extra pack ($5) before the new shipment arrives.  So far I have just used their diapers and wipes, but I am considering trying out there body wash and bathtime products as well....which leads me to my next obsession.

My dear friend Kelley gifted me this Mustela Newborn Set when Preston was born.  At the time I had never heard of the brand but after a little online research apparently it is the leading skincare line for expecting mothers and babies in Europe.  I started using the Foam Shampoo for newborns (specifically cradle cap) and was hooked.  All the items are super gentle, smell awesome and are natural..you can read more here.  Again, a little on the pricier side, but I haven't gone through any of the bottles and have been using the products since we starting bathing Preston on the regular about 3 months ago.....the product seems to last.  I think I am going to try using the lotions for Connor as well.  Nice to know that skincare/beauty powerhouse Sephora carries the brand so when I finally do need to reorder, it should be pretty easy.

I just purchased these Steve Madden Smoking Slippers from a local boutique here at the shore.  I needed another pair of flats to run around town in and thought these were really fun and comfortable too.  I have already worn them with skinny jeans and felt super chic but I like that I can also wear them with a skirt/dress as they have a dressy feel to them.  I opted for a darker color but they are also available in this color which would be great well into the warmer weather.  Totally obsessed and you will for sure be seeing them on the blog in the coming months.

Hope you enjoyed my roundup of current obsessions and have a great weekend!
Carly

Ah, thank you for the bath set rec! I've been waffling between a couple brands, but you've just tipped me in the Mustela direction. I've been using their stretch mark protection cream for my entire pregnancy so far, and I'm loving it :)

Love Bio oil - used it for my c section scar and to prevent stretch marks. I use it still now even though my kids are 11,9 and 5 ! It is so versatile! X

I love Those slippers, I am so lucky to have come through three babies with no stretch marks but I do have some skin I'd like to tighten up, I find bio oil is pretty great for that too.

I discovered Bio Oil last summer for a scar on my forehead and am now hooked too! It was great for summer parched skin and even better in the winter. The scent is so nice. Love your smoking slippers!

I'll keep that Bio Oil in mind for any scars I might have/get. I've been curious about it as well.

I'm also planning to use The Honest Co. Diapers and wipes. Glad to hear you like them. I have been using thier household products and really like them so far.
